<cyns> having phone trouble. be there shortly

layout issues on overview

Jason has reformatted, table is getting really wide

<jkiss> http://dvcs.w3.org/hg/html-api-map/raw-file/tip/Overview1.html

Toggle now added to switch between "View by element" and "View as single table"

Elements and states/properties are separate tables with their own toggles

Individual columns can be hidden and maintain state between toggling single table/separate items

Jason is debating whether to keep the title static, will mock it up so that we can test

Steve has more content to add to the table.

Jasin is waiting until the table is as up-to-date as possible before reaching out to Marco and others.

Table shows what browsers are meant to do. This may not necessarily be what they are doing.

Less range of AT products on the Mac.

Maybe "Comments" column would help (to indicate any issues).

Decision was made to keep interface as it is right now, and let people comment on it. Page is much more usable now with changes that have been implemented.

Jason has tested the updates with NVDA.

The decision was made to upload all changes to the base page so that people can start using it.

<jkiss> I've updated Overview.html with the new layout

Discuss Bug Entered into Bug Tracker

Problem with draggable attribute true by default (now that ARIA is part of HTML5).

Need to find out if attribute is supported on other elements...Steve says it is.

Ian won't fix the bug because ARIA isn't supposed to impact behavior.

Janina sent an email to Cynthia describing the issue.

<cyns> Janina, can you call in, please?

<cyns> ping Janina

Cynthia would prefer if ARIA elements weren't implemented piecemeal because of the various levels of confusion that will result. She's comfortable handling the bug as a "won't fix" issue for now.

It would be nice if there was a placeholder for deferred bugs (so everyone would know that it's being delayed).

Cynthia will ask Paul at the next usability meeting about the right way to respond to the bug.

If the author is going to provide a background image, or if there's an image with associated text, then it seems odd to have the whole thing draggable.

Resolution: Mapping Task Force does not recommend escalating this issue.

Author can make element draggable by adding attribute (it just doesn't get added by default).

Action Item Review

Cynthia talked to Michael Cooper, has directions on how to set up a wiki. She will send Char an email, and Char will start adding information.

Jason did a lot of work on the table layout (see first topic).

Janina has joined the discussion about the bug; agrees with Cynthia that implementation shouldn't be done piecemeal.

Janina will put it on the agenda for the Thursday call.

Formulating Questions for Implementors

We will cover this next week now that the layout problems have been covered.

Steve will coordinate with Jason about the script.

Steve will add information about data generated from HTML5.

Jason has updated http://dvcs.w3.org/hg/html-api-map/raw-file/tip/Overview.html.
