<davidb> 1 min

<davidb> passcode is 2274?

yes

CS: adding ARIA roles changes element into a different element
... 2nd table, DOMACTIVATE is a good example
... DOMACTIVATE may be renamed to CLICK
... CLICK is also in the table, treating it the same as DOMACTIVATE

above comments are explanations on the events.doc document Cynthia has been working on

events.doc document

CS: events don't get fired if have a <div> changed into a button

DB: if has event handler on it, it should fire an event
... fire accessibility event for click

CS: when change role, there are implications beyond changing the role and creating an accessible object

right column is Cynthia's thoughts - need feedback from David

bug 7118 http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=7118

David's review is complete and the text looks good. Close 7118.

bug 7119 http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=7119

edits look good to Cynthia and David. Close 7119.

Issue 59 - same as 7019 - second table should address

Issues 86 & 87 are tied to bug 8464

valuemin, valuemax, and valuenow all default to 0

CS: why not undefined? at least for valuemax?

DB: think 0 was the common value that worked for all APIs

Issue 88

AS: UAIG has no special case processing for aria-disabled

CS: could we add text to beginning of Actions section

DB: or leave this to ARIA 2.0?

CS: talk to MichaelC about "things we think are the right way to go but will not be implemented in the mainstream browsers"
... maybe we could make it a "should"?

add text to Actions section "if aria-disabled is true, UA's should not expose. If exposed, ATs should ignore."

Issue 383

Bug 9656 is tied to this issue: http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=9656

change bug 9656 to P1

Issue 393

identify each HTML specific section

Issue 395

CS: put "required owned elements" in the UAIG glossary

<davidb> filed bug 9878

Action 130

DB: were looking for a way for AT to change some states
... don't really support this notion
... implementation problems from author end to respond to these kinds of things
... would require author to think about how to respond to aria attribute changes
... not the right guy for this action because don't agree with it

<scribe> ACTION: David to go back to PFWG to either close 130 as won't fix or get it assigned to someone else. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2010/06/08-aapi-minutes.html#action01]

Action 166

<scribe> ACTION: Cynthia to send e-mail to Mark asking for explanation of this action [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2010/06/08-aapi-minutes.html#action02]

Action 248

CS: sounds like writeable property issue got closed because it's not in the ARIA spec?
... should this be deferred to ARIA 2.0?

DB: in ARIA practices, section 8 - there is a list of ARIA states and properties that can be modified by AT

CS: if AT changes a property using the accessibility API, what should the UA do?
... should the modification be reflected back into the DOM
... if not, the DOM and AT will be out of sync

<scribe> ACTION: David to look at actions 130 and 248 and figure out what to do with writeable properties [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2010/06/08-aapi-minutes.html#action03]

Action 442

Cynthia thinks she is done.

<scribe> ACTION: Cynthia to mark 442 as "pending review" [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2010/06/08-aapi-minutes.html#action04]
