I.e. if playing backwards is not supported by the codec, if hardware acceleration does not support it

<MikeSmith> @tell mjs I'm around now, for a while

<pimpbot> MikeSmith: You got it, player.

<pimpbot> mjs: Sent 1 minute ago: <MikeSmith> I'm around now, for a while

<mjs> MikeSmith: I wanted to talk to you about bugs

<MikeSmith> mjs: oK

<mjs> MikeSmith: there are two potentially useful things you could help with

<mjs> (1) possibly you could do the monthly report of bug stats that I've been doing (though I actually kind of like doing that, because it makes me more aware of what is going on with bugs)

<MikeSmith> OK.. maybe we could also set up a way to automate that

<mjs> (2) in theory according to the decision policy, someone should be checking bugs in RESOLVED state to make sure they contain the required info (the Editor's Response, a link to the spec diff if there was actually a spec change, a rationale that is actually some sort of meaningful rationale)

<MikeSmith> mjs: OK, I think we could automate that as well

<mjs> and if the bug does have that stuff, it should be moved to VERIFIED, and if not it should probably be reopened

<MikeSmith> I see

<MikeSmith> yeah, that makes sense

<MikeSmith> I can definitely help with that, one way or the other

<mjs> it could be automated, but I think the idea was to do some level of human checking (though I suspect an automated tool could catch at least some obviously wrong cases)

<MikeSmith> yes, true

<MikeSmith> hey, I do want to talk about this more, but I got to drop off

<mjs> sure, I have to go too

<mjs> later!

<MikeSmith> later man

<pimpbot> bugmail: [Bug 9225] New: lax interpretation of legacy encoding decl allows attackers to change encoding of a page <11http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-bugzilla/2010Mar/0111.html>

<rubys> issue-30?

<trackbot> ISSUE-30 -- Should HTML 5 include a longdesc attribute for images -- OPEN

<pimpbot> Title: ISSUE-30 - HTML Weekly Tracker (at www.w3.org)

TF expects to resolve this at the F2F in 2 weeks. Arrival at the WG is expected for Apr 22.

<rubys> issue-31?

<pimpbot> Title: ISSUE-31 - HTML Weekly Tracker (at www.w3.org)

TF has a change proposal that needs time and review since it is a biggy.

We HAVE to be discussed at the F2F.

<Laura> http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/ChangeProposals/ImgElement20090126

<pimpbot> Title: ISSUE-32 - HTML Weekly Tracker (at www.w3.org)

TF thought they were ready 2 weeks ago but were surprize by new counter proposals.

Janina has discussed to some authors and Janina is proposing a separate teleconference with resolve possible misunderstandings.

<Laura> ISSUE 32 table-summary: http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/wiki/Accessibility_Change_Proposal_Status#summary

<pimpbot> Title: Accessibility Change Proposal Status - HTML accessibility task force Wiki (at www.w3.org)

Interesting to Janina and others that breakdown is between TF participants that participate in the TF calls and those that don't.

No predicted arrival date - depends on scheduling said teleconference.

Janina suggested proposal for Issue-32 no earlier than 29 April

<rubys> issue-66?

<trackbot> ISSUE-66 -- image analysis heuristics -- OPEN

<trackbot> http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/issues/66

<pimpbot> Title: ISSUE-66 - HTML Weekly Tracker (at www.w3.org)

TF would probably be okay with the heuristics going away.

Proposals are a) go way b) leave as is c) add more text.

Janina thinks that TF would prefer a).

<Laura> Provide accessibility implementation information for focus rectangle and caret : http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/ChangeProposals/canvasaccessibility

<pimpbot> Title: ChangeProposals/canvasaccessibility - HTML WG Wiki (at www.w3.org)

TF telcon approved part of a solution today and this is going out for 48 hours approval.

TF expects to forward to WG early next week.

A separate proposal on "focus" is being worked on.

<Laura> Improve image maps, don't use @adom: Improve image maps, don't use @adom

Opera wants area maps from HTML4 to be added into the proposal.

<Laura> http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/ChangeProposals/Map4NotAdom

<pimpbot> Title: ChangeProposals/Map4NotAdom - HTML WG Wiki (at www.w3.org)

This is being suggested as an addendum and is a third part.

The "focus" 2nd proposal are considered mandatory to resolve the issue.

<trackbot> http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/issues/80
