Description:
Martin Hepp has asked us to consider adding an @itemref-like attribute to RDFa. Here is an excerpt of his request:

-------------------------

You need itemref whenever you want to publish:

1. non-trivial data structures (e.g. GoodRelations patterns)
2. from visible markup
3. in non-toy HTML, i.e. the size and complexity of HTML templates used in today's shop systems.

With non-toy HTML, I meant that the RDFa textbook-style examples all assume short, valid, nicely organized HTML templates that come from single source, and in our work, we see:

- long,
- invalid,
- messy and unstructured HTML
- that is also often generated from different software components and collated before returning it to the requester.

---------------------

While we have discussed adding this feature to RDFa previously[1], Martin Hepp seems to have *new* implementation experience demonstrating the need for such a feature. We should request a number of examples from Martin, and examine if the evidence shows the need for a new @itemref-like attribute in RDFa.
