Richard: bidi proposal discussions ongoing - hopefully this will result in a WG Note that will help us talk with HTML5 and CSS folks about taking bidi support to the next level

Felix: will present at XML Prague about the setup of the Japanese Layout Requirements document
... there will be a FTF meeting for XSL-FO around that time, if they discuss ruby Felix may / may not be able to attend

Character encoding tutorial

initial draft of new version of tutorial now available for review

please send comments on content (but not so much editorial) topics

do we have the right information ?

XSL-FO Ruby

http://www.w3.org/Style/XSL/Group/FO/wiki/Ruby

Richard: any feedback we should discuss ?

Felix: in general good overview of what ruby is and how it relates to existing specs
... proposal covers all aspects of JIS 4051 & Japanese Layout Requirements doc
... did a good job of taking the terminology in these docs and relating it to the CSS spec
... i think we need feedback from JLTF in section 4.3, ruby properties - we need to make sure that these really fit the Layout Requs doc and JIS 4051

Richard proposes that we continue to review the detail, sending any feedback to the list, then discuss next steps at next week's telecon
