<jmgomez> hi all
http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/prov/wiki/Requirements
Paul: introduce the organization
of this document
... we would like everybody to go through each use case and
identify the user and technical requirement
<smiles> +q
Paul: I would like to go through
with everybody, whether they are happy to contribute each
part
... which I mean going through each separate dimension
Yolanda: these requirements are
being expressed in a very concise way
... the requirement document might need to refer to the use
cases, expand a bit more
Paul: get the core requirements out, and then go back and refill them in
Yolanda: agreed
Ivan: these requirements should compare what we do today, and where are the missing bits
Paul: that should be covered in the subsequent document
Yolanda: agreed. starting from the requirements first would also help with indexing the state-of-the-art
Paul: we are trying not to be very verbose at the beginning
<jmgomez> I agree with that
Paul: I would like to sign ppl up to each dimension
<pgroth> attribution
Paul: go through each dimension and sign up ppl
<Christine> Happy to sign up to Attribution - UR

Yolanda: would it make sense for one to be responsible for one core area?
Paul: agreed
Yolanda: we might need to adjust
some later if one is signed up too much
... what's the timeline?
Paul: either next week or the week after?
Yolanda: 1/ how to create the
linkage between these requirements and citations, create a
bibliography?
... 2/ invite ppl to come over and make presentations to
us?
<Paolo> not me
<Paolo> in fact I will need to check out -- guest wireless useless. will catch up
Paul: do we also need citations to user requirements?
Yolanda: any particular topic or area where we should look for presentations?
Paul: someone from creativecommons?
Yolanda: are we looking for requirements from them?
Paul: that's part of it. and how they see their licensing being used

Simon: interested in DC-related things, database community for provenance, provenance in semantic web
<Irini> +q
<pgroth> how many do we want?
Yolanda: I will ask James Cheney
Jose: I would like to hear more from users of provenance, e.g. the eGov group
<Christine> +q
Christine: I can follow up with the eGov group
<pgroth> what's their name?
Irini: someone else from UPenn might also give a talk about provenance in DB

<pgroth> pat would be great
Yolanda: anyone from W3C?
Ivan: not sure at the moment, maybe come back in a few months
Paulo: SPARQL WG? our provenance is encoded in the way that SPARQL can use, for instance?
<pgroth> i think sparql is getting too technical now
Paulo: requirements around entailment
<pgroth> but we don't even have the requirements yet
<pgroth> seems a bit premature
Ivan: a new draft coming out of SPARQL in ~2 weeks, reviewing any provenance issues that might come out
