CS: SF has taken the action item to map HTML 5 features to accessibility APIs

<Stevef> http://www.paciellogroup.com/blog/misc/ARIA/html5-elements1.html

<cyns> http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/wiki/HTML_4.x_as-built_browser_comparison

SF: above table is for conformance purposes wrt HTML and ARIA

CS: are there any cases where the same attribute with different attribute has different semantic meaning?

SF: haven't looked at that yet

CS proposed bring SF and his HTML 5 assignments into this task force

SF: what would be the appropriate allowable ARIA roles on each element? Need help with review and input.

CS: HTML spec should declare what the browser should do
... from browser perspective, there are three types
... native element with no native role, can put any ARIA role on it you want to
... native element with native role but can be overridden
... native element with native role that can not be overridden
... should restrict as little as possible, only where it makes sense
... need to make it clear when something has a default meaning, and educate authors when it's okay to change and what's compatible with it
