<Arun> I think it would help and act as in index for information seekers.
stephane: talking about a table summarizing challenge and technologies
<Arun> It shuld be part of the doc
<Arun> I feel
mira: sectin 6 ?
section: executive summary
with the table
<MiraS> agreed
<Lauri> Executive section can have the table
<betty> It sounds great.
<scribe> ACTION: steph add an executive summary seciton with a table to summarize [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/08/17-mw4d-minutes.html#action02]
<Arun> Summary with citation is fine.
stephane: extending the tools section of each tech
summary+link ok ?
approved
mira: examples ?
... we should extend the example to illustrate how they are showing strenght
and weaknesses
how examples illustrate the points
<Arun> I agree with Mira that the links may not lead to an illustrative example but wouldn't including examples make this doc bulky ?
we should select the best ones ilustrating strenght and weaknesses
<Arun> I do not know of an alternative though
<Arun> Sure, we can try that and see how it develops
<scribe> ACTION: mira to develop one example that would illustrate better the strenght anf weaknesses [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/08/17-mw4d-minutes.html#action03]
lauri: cellbroadcast used to provide traffic info in the uk
very popular
lauri: you have to activate it on your handset
and when doing that, it impacts severely the battery time
stephane: should we mention ?
Lauri: yes but not very used, due mostly to battery issue
this is due to extra communication with the network
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-mw4d/2009Aug/0019.html
mira: shortening objectives to two paragraph
punchy ones
<scribe> ACTION: mira to rewrite the objectives section [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/08/17-mw4d-minutes.html#action04]
<Yoshiko> +q, yoshiko
<Lauri> I agree, add Scope to the Inroduction section
<Arun> I agree with Yoshiko that having Scope in the begining would be better though we can make it crisper
<Arun> The scope sets the expectation right
<Yoshiko> +q
<Yoshiko> agree, let's see how it will go
<scribe> ACTION: stephane to add in the introduction 2-3 sentences to summarize the scope [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/08/17-mw4d-minutes.html#action05]
<scribe> ACTION: stephane to move the current scope section just before the conclusion [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/08/17-mw4d-minutes.html#action06]
<betty> I noted that parts of challengs are: innovation, scalability and sustainability, business model, regulation and policy, which are identified as critical success factors for the MW4D ecosystem.
<betty> It seems that innovation & regulation/policy has been mentioned.
<Yoshiko> +q
<Lauri> I was thrown out from IRC channel, this is re-joining
<betty> Innovation: well establised univ work with local universities to enable local innovation.
<betty> I agree that regulation/policy not in details.
<Lauri> Lauri like to point to an important Mobile conference: Nokia World 2009 taking place in Stuttgart Germany September 2-3, 2009. Here is the link: http://events.nokia.com/nokiaworld/
<betty> I think 6.2.7 is ok.
<Yoshiko> +q
<betty> As long the policy/regulation discussion complies with the scope, I think it's OK.
<Arun> Policy regulation is an horizontal issue, so 6.3 seems more appropriate
<scribe> ACTION: yoshiko to write section 6.3 around policy and regulation issues at the infrastructure level [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/08/17-mw4d-minutes.html#action07]
<betty> I'll propose some sections in 6.2.
<Arun> Nops
<Yoshiko> thanks!
<betty> Thank you. Bye.
<Lauri> Bye
<MiraS> bye
