Pointers in RDF

MS: objective is to get consensus on publishing

<squillace> response from CI: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-wai-ert/2009Jan/0012.html

Pointers in RDF: final review and decision on publication

MS: tried to generalize abstract
... and refine in later sections

CI: we start talking about content rather than pointers
... maybe need to focus more on the pointers aspect

MS: remove definition and just talk about pointers?

CI: or move to the end of the abstract

SAZ: like the approach of explaining that we are talkng about different types of content, then to go into pointers
... but maybe too much detail and definition
... note that the abstract will also be reviewed by others as part of the publication process

MS: what do we need for status of the document?

SAZ: status of the document should always be the "living breathing" part of the document
... it should explain what the purpose of this draft is, and what we expect from the reader

<scribe> ACTION: msquillac to update Abstract and Status of the Document [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/01/28-er-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Sorry, couldn't find user - msquillac

<trackbot> Created ACTION-73 - Replace http://www.w3.org/2008/pointers with http://www.w3.org/2009/pointer [on Carlos Iglesias - due 2009-02-04].

MS: some pointers should be abstract
... must adapt the language accordingly

CI: agree but may be difficult to express semantically

http://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/EARL10/WD-EARL10-Schema-20081126#TestMode

SAZ: will need careful wording

CI: then RFC keywords loose their meaning if we can't put definitive restricitons

SAZ: think the issue is using the keywords to express application-specific restrictions
... but to keep this separate from the semantics

MS: should we frame issue as a question?

SAZ: suggest adding an editor note to section 1.2 that we are looking into the use of the keywords
... but publish the document as-is

<scribe> ACTION: ciglesia add editor's note to section 1.2 about revising the use of keywords [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/01/28-er-minutes.html#action06]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-76 - Rename compound pointer [on Carlos Iglesias - due 2009-02-04].

MS: in 2.4.2, does it means that tools have to process Content-in-RDF?
