ISSUE-37: Simplified c14n for signing versus more general c14n, e.g. not produce compliant xml document

Simplified c14n for signing versus more general c14n, e.g. not produce compliant xml document

State:
CLOSED
Product:
XML Security 1.1 Requirements and Design Considerations
Raised by:
Scott Cantor
Opened on:
2008-07-29
Description:
If the canonicalization is the last transform before the data is passed into a signature process to be hashed, the output of the canonicalization doesn't need to be xml. This could help performance because the dataset being passed into the signature process could be size optimized.

Related notes:

Closed: C14N is not required. As a result "simplified" is not required either.
