Susie: SWEO extended by a couple of months to wrap up outstanding activities
... not going to consider new activities at this stage

items left are:

business presentation

Susie: Quite a bit of mailing list discussion about business presentation and comments on wiki page
... if you haven't already taken a look at the notes for it, please do
... comments entered onto wiki page by end of tomorrow (Feb 7)
... after that will let Jeff know that we're ready for text -> slides

use cases and case studies

Susie: two angles
... (1) solicitation for new use cases & case studies
... (2) updating facets

ivan: we might get one from Unilever
... also there's a new system that Reuters put in place
... I've asked contacts there to get me in touch with the people behind this new system
... also a number in the uncomfortable nagging phase that might get put on ice
... except for Talis

Susie: Would be good to get a new set of people to write use cases and case studies
... we didn't get much from outreach to vendors in terms of them pointing to deployments of their tools

<ivan> The OpenCalais system of Reuters I referred to

Susie: both Siderean and TopQuadrant said 'yes' but we did not get any

John: Metatomix might have use cases or case studies to contribute regarding use of semantics in the enterprise
... will need to get companies to bless and release this
... can we keep company names out?

ivan: No; real force of this to have other companies see reference so having the companies' names are important
... copyright remains with original submitters

FrankC: Has TopBraid been contacted? We're using it in a number of projects
... and they've told us some of the deployments they have with the new tools

Susie: Yes, we've emailed them and they have interest but we haven't seen anything

<discussion on Mills Davis>

Susie: (2) enhancement of facets

LeeF: Nothing to report, hope for next week

knowee

Susie: bengee, how comes knowee?

bengee: There's some stuff working but it's not yet opened up for creating profiles
... next weekend there is a semantic camp in London and I must have it online by then

info gathering

Susie: Leo communicating with Tim and Kingsley re: bugs in info gathering resource

URI document

Susie: Leo still working on incorporating edits

AOB?

Susie: Please everyone do think about how we can get new use cases and case studies!

FrankC: Wanted to report activity last week
... working with Steve Bratt at BP site using ISO15926 with Semantic Web
... turns out BP and other oil and gas companies are doing interesting work
... also trying to organize something similar to HCLS workshop for oil and gas

Susie: Adjourned
