RESOLVED to accept minutes of the Nov 20 telecon: http://www.w3.org/2007/11/20-swd-minutes.html
Tom: just updated scribe duty file on the wiki, will post to the list to see who can scribe
<Ralph> ScribeDuty
Tom: alistair and sean are not here to report on the reference
<scribe> ACTION: Quentin to review Editor's draft of SKOS Reference [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/11/20-swd-minutes.html#action02] [CONTINUES]
<scribe> ACTION: Vit to review Editor's draft of SKOS Reference [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/11/20-swd-minutes.html#action03] [CONTINUES]
Tom: how about the SKOS Primer?
<Ralph> [I presume the Jan, Feb, and Apr dates in "Schedule for SKOS deliverables" in the agenda are really 2008, not 2007]
Antoine: we started the process
sharing an html document
... we plan to reuse the existing material from the SKOS Core
Guide
<Tom> [RalphS, yes 2008...!]
Antoine: some extension of the
material is also needed
... i'd like to follow the approach of the rdfa primer
... basic uses first, and then introduce more advanced stuff
for skos, mapping links, relationship between labels, grouping
of concepts into collections
Tom: i thought it would be interesting to have a discussion about the skos extension module
<scribe> ACTION: Alistair and Guus write draft section in primer on relationship between SKOS concepts and OWL classes for OWL DL users [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/11/06-swd-minutes.html#action05] [CONTINUES]
<Ralph> [Antoine's plan for the primer sounds good to me. One challenge is to decide how far to go in showing 'advanced' concepts. A thick primer apparently makes some people concerned.]
Justin: is the plan to publish
SKOS Primer as a Note?
... have found in other w3 activities that publishing as an
article can sometimes be useful
... sometimes having all the technical front matter can get in
the way of understanding
Ralph: can you cite an example of how to do this right?
Justin: Web Content Accessibility Overview
Antoine: that would be interesting
Justin: will send links to list
Antoine: do you think the
existing SKOS Core guide will serve as a good example of what
we should do?
... is it too complex?
Justin: I think because it's wrapped in a technical report format it's harder to dive into
Tom: if you could send some feedback along those lines to Antoine that would be useful
<scribe> ACTION: Alistair and Guus to prepare material for next week on Concept Schemes vs OWL Ontologies [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/10/30-swd-minutes.html#action04] [CONTINUES]

updated?
... yeah, i guess it needs to be updated
<scribe> ACTION: Ben to update RDFa schedule in wiki [http://www.w3.org/2006/07/SWD/wiki/RDFa#RDFa_schedule] [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/10/08-swd-minutes.html#action04] [CONTINUES]
<scribe> ACTION: Guus/Tom to propose joint decisions for reviews for major [RDFa] steps/transition requests. Informal agreement about working drafts. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/11/20-swd-minutes.html#action17] [DONE]
Ralph: there's still a divergence
of opinion on how the instanceof syntax should work
... we're guessing how people would 'naturally' interpret some
markup
... there's two different approaches that seem obvious to
different sets of people
... trying to figure out whether some use cases are hard to
implement with one or the other
Tom: what's coming down the pipe w/ transition requests
Ralph: the only major stumbling block is the interpretation of instanceof
Tom: sean palmer made a suggestion on RDFa and user agents
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-swd-wg/2007Nov/0056.html
Ralph: we should respond
<Ralph> Sean's message is related to -> http://www.w3.org/2006/07/SWD/track/issues/28 issue 28 "Follow your nose"
Tom: can we take an action for the taskforce to respond?
<scribe> ACTION: Ralph to ask rdfa tf to respond to sean palmer's suggestion [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/11/27-swd-minutes.html#action11]

berrueta: would be happy to get some
feedback
... will post to the mailing list
<guus> [sry, phone out of batteries]
<scribe> ACTION: Diego to recast Recipe 6 [recorded in [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/11/20-swd-minutes.html#action19] [CONTINUES]

<scribe> ACTION: Ralph propose resolution to ISSUE-16 "Default behavior" [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/11/20-swd-minutes.html#action23] [CONTINUES]
<scribe> ACTION: Ralph to come up with a URI for wiki page [for Recipes [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/11/20-swd-minutes.html#action24] [CONTINUES]
<scribe> ACTION: Ralph/Diego to work on Wordnet implementation [of Recipes] [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/11/20-swd-minutes.html#action25] [CONTINUES]
<Ralph> [sigh -- I had planned to make progress on at least one of my actions before this call, but failed at that]
Tom: i think the deliverables page needs to reflect that December is a target for the Recipes document
Ralph: sounds like something that was decided at f2f
berrueta: i think so
JonP: we'll work on it some this week I think
Tom: lets keep december as a
target for having a version of recipes to review
... we need an action to update the deliverables
page
<scribe> ACTION: diego to update deliverables page w/r/t recipes document [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/11/27-swd-minutes.html#action20]
Ralph: it will be useful to have
an updated recipes document
... tim seems to think there are a number of things wrong with
the current document
... he wondered if the current working draft should be
retracted
... so there's at least one person that thinks that it might be
causing more confusion that not
JonP: we don't have a solution to
the most significant problem that he raised -- conditional
redirects
... that's the one danbri is tasked to speak to apache
about
Ralph: we can note in the recipe that there is a problem
JonP: the urgency is noted :)

<Ralph> SWEO requests input on SKOS message [Ed, 2007-11-19]
<Ralph> Ed's post to SWEO [2007-11-26]
<scribe> ACTION: Ed to send review to SWEO by next telecon [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/11/20-swd-minutes.html#action13] [DONE]
