approval of last week minutes

<Rotan> mins ok by me

all: minutes approved

Fulfilling the Heartbeat requirement

<Rotan> Heartbeat is the process's way of ensuring that groups are active. It's a pity it only has one main metric: formal publications.

<Rotan> Given that public groups now do a lot of active visible work with wikis and blogs.

Dave: Kevin, make small updates to DIAL based on feedback

Kevin: deadline, oct 31st ... on vacation but will do best to get soemthing out

Dave: wish you the best in accomplishing that! :)

Draft agenda for f2f

<Dave> see http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/member-uwa/2007Oct/0032.html

Dave: With Rotan (DDWG) about joint session and joint dinner

Rotan: poll to DD so far has been positive
... agenda comment Ontology joint work is preferable on thursday evenign prior to dinner (discussion with Jose)

<Rotan> Also, I've asked for DD people in the poll to indicate the other groups they intend to participate in during the TP week.

<Rotan> +1 to DD/UWA ontology work being scheduled for Thur afternoon.

Dave: planning to talk on ontology on thursday afternoon. Would be good to do this jointly with ddwg

Friday morning: talk on work on DCCI

<Rotan> My regrets for Fri/Sat as I'll be chairing DDWG, but I'll keep the UWA channel open in case any issues crop up.

<scribe> ACTION: Dave to contact Steve Bratt to arrange date and time for DCCI transition meeitng [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/10/18-uwawg-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot-ng> Created ACTION-60 - Contact Steve Bratt to arrange date and time for DCCI transition meeitng [on Dave Raggett - due 2007-10-25].

Dave: Ryan is invited expert for location on friday - for DCCI properties
... Sat morning : Device coordination (TP agenda)

<Kangchan> No problem for me.

Sailesh: anything on service bindings?

Dave: part of device coordination work

preparing DCCI for CR

<Dave> see http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/member-uwa/2007Oct/0038.html

Keith: didnt understand what you mean by test suites.. want to clarify what w3c needs in terms of test suite

Dave: common practice si to come with documentation of test results for normative section
... dont need test suite to go into CR but need one to get out of CR

<Keith> http://www.w3.org/2001/di/dci/ir/

<Rotan> Dave: Steve might like assurances about kind of tests expected.

Steph: on this spec, we are far more advanced here.. almost completing all materials for CR
... major prob is not getting ack to answers for comments

Keith: that clarifies it now
... priority is doing minor updates to doc and putting it up

<Keith> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/member-uwa/2007Sep/0012.html

Keith: multimodal interaction gp had most comments - reasonably recent that we posted the responses.. need to look back and see if any more response is needed

Dave: important that we get acks for responses
... MMI has to send acks for response or we need to ping them

Keith: have to check whether the initial responses have been sent to MMI

Steph willing to help Keith write up responses if needed

Steph to help manage with disposition of comments

Dave: have to give time limit to respond back with acks to responses

Keith: steph did a good job with 2nd last call for collating all inputs and corr responses to and fro

Steph: last call tracker system can be used ..

<steph> http://www.w3.org/2006/02/lc-comments-tracker/40755/WD-DPF-20070704/http://www.w3.org/2006/02/lc-comments-tracker/40755/WD-DPF-20070704/

<steph> http://www.w3.org/2006/02/lc-comments-tracker/40755/WD-DPF-20070704/

Steph: can manage with disposition of comments: keith to answer to MMI and Samsung and Steph can manage after that

<steph> public-dcci-editors

Keith: answer to comments, with time linit.. Steph to take care after that

Steph: Also copy to public-dcci-editors list

Dave: how to develop test suites

Keith: we started a table that lists functionalities to be tested along with a agreed property list

XHTML2 role module

<Rotan> I sent a brief response when the call went out - http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2007Oct/0036.html

Dave: role module should somehow be part of DIAL?

Kevin: yes it is

Dave: some feedback on role functionality back to xhtml group from our group
... last call ends through 26th of oct

<Rotan> See http://www.w3.org/2004/06/DI-MCA-WS/execreport.html

Dave: any volunteers to look at this and get back to group?

Rotan: emphasized the importance of role as mechanism for adaptaion: i welcomed the conclusions of xhtml group
... uwa group doesn have to comment on tech aspects of role as others are doing it

Dave: by next week, if we can collate any more feedback, i can send it (before 25th)

<scribe> ACTION: Dave to send feedback to XHTML2 group on 25th of October [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/10/18-uwawg-minutes.html#action02]

<trackbot-ng> Created ACTION-61 - Send feedback to XHTML2 group on 25th of October [on Dave Raggett - due 2007-10-25].

WAF widget spec

Dave: like people to look through this and see if any comments can be had

<Dave> see http://www.w3.org/TR/2007/WD-widgets-20071013/

Dave: supporting offline apps etc, widgets spec is important.. any volunteers?
... i will try to have a look

Remote UI and distributed DOM

Dave: XML serialization of events and how firewalls and Nats affect this from point of application developer
... come back to drafting a spec for distributed DOMs and serializaiton of XML events
... also initialization phase: download xml client, initialize for which event exchange take place: how to do this
... hopefully Vlad will respond before f2f
... happy to draft somethign initial for the f2f
... probably collecting input from Vlad and not a spec

<Dave> see: http://www.w3.org/2007/uwa/trackbot/actions/open

look at open actions

<Dave> Re ACTION-9

<Rotan> ACTION: 59 to I have a poll open at the moment to gather responses. So far majority in favour of Korea venue. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/10/18-uwawg-minutes.html#action03]

Kevin: outstanding action is to provide xhtml2 with xml schemas
... Rhys has done it and will be sent to XHTML group

Dave: Korean f2f
... Kangchan favrouable to colocate with DDWG in Korea
... also have to ask BPWG

Rotan: from emails, they plan to attend in Korea (BPWG)

<Rotan> And action number 18 has been done via this message from me: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-uwa/2007Oct/0008.html

<Kangchan> My favorable is to fix the date for UWA F2F meeting. Then, Because MWI WGs also have a plan to held F2F Meeting in March, If necessary, I hope to colocate with MWI wgs.
