<AllanJ> scribe: JR
<AllanJ> Possible joint meeting time with PFWG at plenary. Al and Jim may meet next week to set agenda
JR: Reads through registered participants and observers (http://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/35125/TPAC2007/registrants#ua)
JA: Speaking with Al Gilman a lot
CL: There is some question about
how ARIA roles will be exposed by IE
... Exposing through DOM, and screen readers don't want to have
to go to DOMs when they could go to some more common
accessibility API
... Rich also recommended Anne van...
... For the UAWG group.
Anne van Kesteren
<scribe> ACTION: JA to Follow up with Anne van Kesteren [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/10/18-ua-minutes.html#action01]
JA: We already talk about APIs...
CL: Right and we talk about them
in are req doc
... Still need Apple/Safari person
JA: Still looking into this
CL: Opera good because they are working on ARIA
JA: Al also interested in browser
vs. AT and author's role
... Only certain amount of repair is possible
CL: In ARIA, Javascript injects stuff into HTML and handles keyboard nav.
JA: Another thought - keyboard conflicts involved.
CL: UA resolves conflicts for keys in markup, but can't with keys in Javascript.
JA: who's grabbing keys etc.
CL: Also still having probs in
dojo dealing with high contrast in IE
... Firefox has default font size, but IE not
JA: IE uses default system size as "medium"
CL: Zoom style for IE not respected by Firefox
JA: We are very close on the UAAG
2.0 requirments document
... Next thing is charter I guess
JR: Plus getting internal draft going
Topi: Action items
JA: Did CSUN paper, JR's thing done
JA: We seem to do lots of good
work just marching through.
... So we could march through internal draft
... Thought we had good issues generated
JR: Maybe try and finish GL3 and 4 on the list an then start on 5 at the F2F.
JA: OK - we have just 2 more
calls before the F2F
... Will set out homework assignments for next call
<AllanJ> Proposal: Allow configuration not to execute any executable content (e.g., scripts, plugs-ins and applets).
<AllanJ> JR: allow user control overthe rendering environment, and get alternative content
<AllanJ> CL: but if user can't turn off plugin then can not get alternative content
<AllanJ> CL: turn off plug-in just like turn off scripts.
<AllanJ> CL: alternative content, inside content is in the DOM...
<AllanJ> UA could expose alternative content in the viewport, expose to accessibility API for AT
<AllanJ> CL: this is related to 2.3 render conditional content.
<AllanJ> JR: stuff is renderened and other stuff is executed. we are concerned with execution
<AllanJ> JR: plugins are rendering engines outside of the browser
<AllanJ> ...UA cannot render that content natively and hads off rendering to plugin
<AllanJ> CL core UA vs player/plugin
<AllanJ> JR: Allow configuration not to execute any executable content (e.g., scripts, objects, and applets).
