<ErikBruchez> hi guys, I just need 1 minute
<klotz> i pretty much have to go now, sorry.
<markbirbeck> anyone here?

<markbirbeck> mmm...would someone mind saying something? :)
<wellsk> is there talking on the phone? or is it my phone?
<unl> oh no!!!

blake I need the minutes in the irc or in leigh's format to get the resolutions and actions out of it...
so maybe we can enter the actions and resolutions on irc
<Steven> We can put the actions here
and what with select1?
<Steven> there's no ambiguity with select1
<Steven> so empty should be allowed, and just work
<Steven> http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/Forms/2006/xforms-for-html-authors-part2.html#Selecting
<Steven> Proposed RESOLUTION: Say that it is undefined what empty value elements in a select element mean
<ErikBruchez> Proposed resolution: Select items with blanks or empty values do not affect the storage value and these items should not be selectable by the user.
blank is not well defined in out spec, does it include required space or other spaces, prob. not but if we don't define it is ambiguous
<Charlie> +1
<Steven> OK by me
its ok for me
I was only worried for the definition of blank
<ErikBruchez> RESOLUTION: Select items with blanks or empty values do not affect the storage value and these items should not be selectable by the user.

<scribe> ACTION: Erik to add text for select items with blanks or empty values do not affect the storage value and these items should not be selectable by the user (and have definition or better wording for blank). [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/09/19-forms-minutes.html#action01]
<trackbot-ng> Created ACTION-415 - Add text for select items with blanks or empty values do not affect the storage value and these items should not be selectable by the user (and have definition or better wording for blank). [on Erik Bruchez - due 2007-09-26].
I read it like this too
but what happens if you select a third value does the invalid value disapear?I guess yes
I think that they should now that they are out of range if there is data in the instance that is not selectable
that is an implmentation detail I think, does the spec defines that you can't remove the invalid value if you change the select?
<Roger_> Our implementation ignores the storaged values not present in the itemset, not throwing any error.
because the value of the control changes and the new value is the space seperated value of all the selected options

as additional item
<ErikBruchez> Proposed resolution for issue 88: We agree that the control present an out-of-range condition in this scenario, and to rewrite the paragraph to clarify that behavior.
<Charlie> +1
I can live with it
<ErikBruchez> Proposed resolution for issue 89: We propose that the behavior be non-destructive and choose option 2a.
RESOLUTION: issue 89 we agree that the control present an out-of-range condition in this scenario, and to rewrite the paragraph to clarify that behavior.
<Roger_> byw

<ErikBruchez> bye
<ErikBruchez> do we need to do anything to register the action items?
<ErikBruchez> that's done right?
<ErikBruchez> the minutes were taken offline by Blake
<ErikBruchez> I assume this means we don't need to make them
<ErikBruchez> or do we need the IRC minutes?
<ErikBruchez> right
<ErikBruchez> do you know how to do this?
<ErikBruchez> actions?
<ErikBruchez> great, bye bye
