Action items

john_boyer: has anyone done action items they want to report?
... embarassing silence...
... we need to get started on action items to be in time for last call
... especially in light of reason comments on mailing list we need to publish 3rd edition

raman: the technical work of the group has been good but we will probably see more issues on the mailing list relating to w3c process
... we need to answer on public list even if we do not agree

john_boyer: 1.1 last call deadline has been extended to the end of april, 2007

Issue tracking

steven: the issue tracking system has been updated to more closely match the w3c process

<John_Boyer> http://htmlwg.mn.aptest.com/cgi-bin/xforms-issues/

steven: the new and improved version is also easier to style

john_boyer: can we change the name from xforms working group to forms working group?

steven: yes, it is trivial.

<scribe> ACTION: steven to ask shane to change name of working group in issue tracking system [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/04/11-forms-minutes.html#action01]

steven: to log in to issue tracking, contact shane to get a login
... to get a login ask on email: shane@aptest.com
... mention you are from forms WG

john_boyer: you can start using the system as user guest, already

XForms Transitional

Nothing to report this week

Backplane

charlie: we are waiting for the patent working group, otherwise we are ready to go

FtF

charlie: the sign-up page for new york f2f is ready

steven: i don't know exactly where we put it yet, as there are potential private information

<Steven> ACTION: Steven to install new FtF page [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/04/11-forms-minutes.html#action02]

steven: i will get back on that

Xforms conference at XML conference

john_boyer: i will sent an email out today about that.
... anyone having public examples of xforms?

<John_Boyer> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-forms/2007Apr/0019.html

<Nick> bcc?

john_boyer: why does an email to www-forms-editor goto www-forms archive?
....: maybe it was bcc....

raman: i don't think it's a glitch in the system
... the mails are on the intended mailing lists

Issues

john_boyer: i believe the issues addressed in http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-forms/2007Apr/0019.html has been carefully done by the WG
... last call issues:

<John_Boyer> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-forms-editor/2007Feb/

john: everything arrived after the publication date or near the piublication date should be entered as last call issues
... and then people will get action items to answer to these issues
... does this sound like a good idea?
...
... okay, so we will do it like that!

<John_Boyer> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-forms-editor/2007Feb/0005.html

steven: this is not really a last call issue, but anyway we already replied so it is handled

john: do we need to record it as a last call comment?

steven & sebastian: I dont think so.

steven: we replied and he did not have additional comments, so end-of-issue.

<John_Boyer> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-forms-editor/2007Mar/

john: february done!

<John_Boyer> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-forms-editor/2007Mar/0000.html

<jturner> yes

john: it must be entered as a last call issue. the group already agreed to it.
... do we need to reply what we did to the spec. or do we just reply "we agree" ?

steven: it is enough to reply: "we agree".
... we may also point them to the revised specification.
... but we do not need to make detailed description of what we will do in the reply.
... also, remember, that all versions of our spec. is now public.

<John_Boyer> xforms-issues@mn.aptest.com <mailto:xforms-issues@mn.aptest.com?Subject=Re%3A%20Telecon%20Agenda%20-%20April%2011%2C%202007&In-Reply-To=%253COF35DB690A.2476813E-ON882572BA.00174810-882572BA.0017826C%40ca.ibm.com%253E&References=%253COF35DB690A.2476813E-ON882572BA.00174810-882572BA.0017826C%40ca.ibm.com%253E>

<John_Boyer> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-forms-editor/2007Mar/0001.html

john: does anyone disagree to this resolution ?

[no one voices objection....]

<John_Boyer> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-forms-editor/2007Mar/0002.html

john: how do we respond to this last call issue?

sebastian: i believe the resolution was we need to ask the CDF WG

lars: I already contacted some from CDF and I posted the reply.
... they said we want to do that but we are not quite there yet

john: so we need remove this capability from our vocabulary?

lars: yes

<John_Boyer> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-forms/2007Feb/0027.html

john: essential this is , what happens when we delete the context node - for instance in a sequence of actions
... I believe we do not say anything about what to do when there are no context node?
... what does the implementors do?

kenneth: we do a no-operation

<Roger> I think is the same case if the nodeset doesn´t exist

joern: i think its a no operation

<Roger> we´ll check it.

john: can implementors sent a note to the list about what they do ?

<SusanB> i'll check

john: if everybody has interpreted as a no-op maybe we can get some language into the spec. describing that behavior.

<Roger> Many thanks & bye

john: top-of-the-hour....
