ACTION: [DONE] Bob to ask addressing for test development for policy assertions [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/02/20-ws-cg-minutes.html#action02]

Philippe: for Addressing, only IBM responded positively so far.

ACTION: [DONE] Chris to ask xml protocol for test development for policy assertions [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/02/20-ws-cg-minutes.html#action03]

Chris: Interop event too early for XMLP.

Status report

WS-Policy

Chris: Asked wg, didn't feel they were ready for testing yet.
... Policy:: Made request for CR for framework and attachment specs.
... Have call tomorrow.
... If all goes well, CRs published on the 28th.
... Philippe may need to help in Felix's absence.
... Continues to push forward on guidelines, primer, wsdl 1.1 element identifiers
... Expect an updated WD on the latter soon.
... Upcoming FTF in Sunnyvale, including a first interopathon.
... Final interopathon in Ottowa in May.
... June is the earliest date that CR could advance.

Philippe: Did WG talk about how to do testing?

Chris: We'll talk about that tomorrow. We have scenarios doc from IBM/MS. Dusting off and updating.
... Adding tests for the new features (xml:base, xml:id, ignorable)
... Have commitments from some members for UDDI attachment (not previously tested in public interops).
... Scheduled for tomorrow whether a formal testing framework is needed.
... Still have questions on whether remote participation at interopathons will be possible.
... Need to set up registration that includes non-members.

Philippe: Registration for non-members is possible - set up separate page.
... Just like the Workshop.

Chris: Need to get that set up soon.

XMLP status

Chris: PER review ended.
... Pulling together comments (non-substantive) to address.
... SOAP 1.2 One-Way MEP. Recieved WSDL comments on that.
... Expects Last Call in about a month.
... Recharter work: Yves was going to pull together an updated version of the charter.
... One more pass by WG before sending to AC.

Data Binding

Paul: FTF last week, addressed most LC comments.
... Some interesting ones from Microsoft.
... Interestingly, some comments asked that the patterns be even more basic.
... Will publish a report on how patterns are supported and used in the wild.
... Pretty soon, at which point maybe go to PR.
... Basic records what works with tools. Some worrying indications that the future won't improve.
... Future products may not raise the bar.
... Some people pushing back on attributes even, possibly driven by interest in a lower common denominator for alternate representations like JSON.

WSDL

Jonathan: we're really really close. Couple of issues opened. Test results looks good.
... not close enough to move to PR this week though. One issue is the safety property.
... the TAG might take this up next Tuesday
... so PR vote likely a week from Thursday
... the drafts are in a good shape. Question about changing the namespace.
... we'll change the tests after the fact if we pick a new namespace

Jacek: WRT the safety issue...
... if the TAG is OK moving it away from WSDL into SAWSDL, would either spec need to return to LC?

Philippe: Not sure the CG is the right model.
... Not sure we need to.

SAWSDL

Jacek: Considering WSDL's progress, I've abandoned hope that we could match the schedule.
... We are beginning CR work. Safety coordination is the most significant issue so far.

Philippe: BTW, not sure the Director will be on the TAG call next Tuesday...

Jonathan: Maybe we can corner him there...

Choreography

Yves: Missed last week's telcon - some progress on test suite.

Addressing

Philippe: In LC for Metadata. No comments yet.

Jonathan: WSDL WG having a hard time getting a fresh volunteer. Reduced WSDL impact, so we might be fine.

<Chris> policy will likely have some comments. these have yet to be aproved by the policy WG. we expect to close of the policy f/b to ws-addressing tomorrow

From chairs@w3.org

Philippe: Linked to pub moratorium
... One fewer calendar to sync for transition calls
... Survey on resuming chairs calls
... Please respond (Paul, Jacek responded so far)
... New phone numbers for UK, FR

Jacek: using them for a while - no problems to report!
