<AndyS> The code behind the factory will tell you what it actually does.

<AndyS> (cos I can't remember!)

:-)

<AndyS> It's not changed for ARQ2

When I started writing my SPARQL stuff last year, I promised myself that I wasn't going to write any parsers (other than the SPARQL parser itself, of course), and I was going to write the bare minimum of graph code that I needed to handle CONSTRUCT and that's it :)

<SimonR> What the heck...?

Not loved by the W3C phone system

<SimonR> Drat. I was kind of hoping my recent trade-up to ADSL2+ was going to solve all my telephony problems....

Short meeting due to limited attendance, topics discussed:

<SimonR> Adjourned at 14:55Z.

AndyS: Many of the rq25 changes made; need to talk with ericP about some section 11 changes
... reviews always encouraged, perhaps people can choose specific section that interest them in reviewing to ease the review burden

LeeF: I'll talk to Kendall, Steve, and others to see where their ability to review currently stands
... optimistically/speculatively might hope to have reviews of near-final rq25 next week, decision to publish last call in 2 weeks

Orri offers to look over the protocol document

Minimal test suite?

SimonR: I think that a small set of carefully reviewed tests would encourage more people to look through the tests and be more likely to test the specific parts of SPARQL that need to be tested - bigger is not necessarily better
... maybe we could even annotate the end of each section of the QL document with the relevant tests for that section to aid readers/implementors

LeeF: Concerned with schedule because we're looking to publish LC and CR specs before the test work is finished

AndyS: Concerned with additional administrative work that will delay schedule -- in this case, time needed to agree on "core" tests

this is all a recording eric :)

<SimonR> LeeF, your retention is admirable!

LeeF: We can use the URIs in Eric's classification work to automatically post-annotate the QL document with relevant tests

SimonR: ...and Eric's work will help us determine equivalence classes of tests to aid in selecting core tests down the line

<General agreement that in an ideal world ending up with a core set of tests is probably a good idea, but time and energy prevent us from doing it at the moment.>

LeeF: Anyone with time / energy can annotate the test manifests with :featuredTest markers down the line and produce a minimal test suite from that

err

ericp that is

:)

<ericP> ahh, got it

<ericP> oops,. very sorry

that's ok - I think Andy has some Sec. 11 stuff (and related to Souri's comments) to discuss with you

(Andy is probably switching rooms/machines right now though)

<AndyS> Ping!

<ericP> pong

LeeF: Let's adjourn early, meet next week, and continue discussions on the mailing list
