<scribe> scribe: toufic

umit: next meeting in two weeks

<fsasaki> (felix says regrets for next meeting, will rejoin in three weeks)

umit: any coordination meeting in-between because of deliverables?

maryann: it's an on-going process

umit: wasn't clear which work items were in and which were out

fred/maryann: we should clear that up

maryann: what hard constraints do we have for generating next drafts

prasad: can generate the diffs
... we have to send it around jan 9, that's good enough

<Frederick_Hirsch> Note that last editor call minutes not clear - what is delivered in January will be best effort and what editors are able to do

<scribe> Agenda: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-ws-policy-eds/2006Dec/0045.html

toufic: actions 92, 94 need review in this group

<prasad> 92 is closed?

<maryann> action 94 and 96

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-ws-policy/2006Dec/0012.html

<maryann> toufic: needs the group to help before closing

<maryann> toufic: question -- there is a pointer in the framework that points to the primer

<maryann> toufic: the bug had some changes which were done, but there is one thing still not done, which is the pointer from the framework ( normative) to primer ( non-normative)

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=3965

<maryann> fred: where is the proposal for the link?

<maryann> Add a pointer to the 4.3.4 PolicyReference that points forward to the newly

<maryann> proposed text in the Primer. Editor's discretion as to adding reference to

<maryann> Guidelines document, Section 3.6.

<maryann> this is in bug http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=3965

<maryann> umit: we should just ask back to the working group if we don't know what to do

<maryann> toufic: i'll add it then

<maryann> umit: we could just drop a note to the chairs

<maryann> +1

<scribe> ACTION: toufic to ask chairs about forward pointer in http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=3965 [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/12/20-ws-policy-eds-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-107 - Ask chairs about forward pointer in http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=3965 [on Toufic Boubez - due 2006-12-27].

<maryann> umit: paul will be able to find it

<maryann> toufic, i can't find it in the minutes

<maryann> touf: the other action item is 96

<maryann> TOPIC- action 96

action 96 http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-ws-policy/2006Dec/0020.html

<maryann> toufic: asir asked me to look over it

<maryann> toufic: I made 7 of the 9 changes and have 2 questions

<maryann> toufic: asir asked me to get feedback on the edits

a) s/WS-Policy Assertions are XML expressions that communicate the requirements/WS-Policy Assertions communicate the requirements/

<maryann> toufic: asir is proposing to remove "xml expressions"

<maryann> prasad: xml is only one of the rendering languages

<maryann> umit: but we don't have anything about doing it in any other language

<maryann> prasad: there is text in the framework that says the lang is not limited to XML only

d) s/A provider of WS-Policy Assertions/A provider who expresses capabilities and requirements of a Web service as policies/

<maryann> toufic: so i will take that input and make the change ( regarding XML expressions)

<maryann> toufic: the change seems to be overly complicated

<maryann> prasad: i think he's trying to say they are requirements on the provider, provider is not providing the policy, but is providing the actual capabilities

<maryann> toufic: 3.1..3 is the section where this change would be made

<maryann> umit: i agree

<maryann> +1

<scribe> scribe: toufic

Action 95

maryann: asir assigned it to me to follow up with umit

umit: has expressed a need to sleep

maryann: new date Jan 3

Action 98

prasad: just finished the change

Action 99

fred: done and checked in

Action 100

umit: assigned to everybody

maryann: not on critical path, not needed until next year after doc publication

Action 94

umit: still open
... daveO, do we have a room?

daveO: no action required, we have the room

Action 105

fred: it was two docs

daveO: suggests an overly complicated process to resolve

maryann: it was for guidelines and primer

<prasad> http://www.w3.org/2006/12/20-ws-policy-minutes.html

i don't see any editorial actions ...

umit: no other editorial actions from today's WG call

prasad: just to be clear, are we sending all four documents to WG?

fred: i thought that was the intent

maryann: +1

next meeting chair: Dave Orchard

next meeting scribe: Umit
