Judy: Several documents are nearing completion. The document "Improving Your Web site" also the "Tools List" are on call for review.
... There are also some items we think are ready for review.
... Please return survey's as soon as possible.

"Improving the Accessibility of Your Web site" (Retrofitting)

<shawn> http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/Drafts/retrofit/retrofitting-changelog.html#next

Shawn: [Leads a walk through the changelog]

Andrew: Could we move some h4 items up the hierarchy?

Shawn: Could we leave it for the next revision?

Andrew: Can live with it.

<shawn> ACTION: "retrofitting" changelog: fix doc title in changelog [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/03/10-eo-minutes.html#action01]

William: Would like a more personal, rather than organizational point of view.

Judy: We should look at this in general. Maybe that should be a documents requirements consideration.

<scribe> ACTION: Make tone a standard part of requirements... especially the personal vs. the organizational point of view. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/03/10-eo-minutes.html#action02]

Shawn: "Evaluating to identify the issues" and h2, changed considerably, paragraph 2 and 3.

<shawn> http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/Drafts/retrofit/Overview.html#eval paragraph 2 & 3

Harvey: Images should be included in examples.

Andrew: Paragraph 2, add ... representative paths or common paths.

Henk: Does not seem to address people who already have an accessibility report in hand.

<scribe> ACTION: Include some reference for people with an accessibility report in hand. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/03/10-eo-minutes.html#action03]

<scribe> ACTION: In the description of the page on the site identify the people who are addressed. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/03/10-eo-minutes.html#action04]

Shadi: The notion that not everyone does it in house.

<shawn> ACTION: shawn, when put "retrofitting" doc in site, on the anno nav page, try to make it clear that this doc is for you whether you don't know anything or you already have an evaluation done or wherever... [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/03/10-eo-minutes.html#action05]

Why Standards Harmonization is Essential for Web Accessibility"

<shawn> (done)

Judy: The F2F meeting made changes and it is close to release.

<Andrew> andrew & Henny are nodding in agreement

<scribe> ACTION: Consider changing the outcomes more ... on first reasons [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/03/10-eo-minutes.html#action06]

<scribe> ACTION: Add reference to assistive technologies on the World Wide Item. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/03/10-eo-minutes.html#action07]

<scribe> ACTION: Change myths to beliefs where it is used. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/03/10-eo-minutes.html#action08]

<scribe> ACTION: Look for place to add language referring to the fact that developers are communicating with the whole world, not just the local audience. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/03/10-eo-minutes.html#action09]

Shadi: Word developing for the whole world must be worded carefully. Many people want to ignore other audiences, and ignore W3C guidelines.

BAD Evaluation Report

Shadi: Feedback on overall organization and structure of the report. If you get this report will it help you find problems? Is this a good model for other eval report writers? If you are new does this help you learn about accessibility problems?

<shadi> * If you were expecting an evaluation report for your Web site, is this the type of information you would want in it? (Consider being a manager or a developer)

<shadi> * If you were writing an evaluation report for a Web site, does this report help you as a model to follow?

<shadi> * If you wanted to learn more about Web accessibility, does the evaluation sufficiently outline some of the issues?

Shadi: Eval Report : Is the TOC OK?

<scribe> ACTION: Note the level of conformity early... in the introduction. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/03/10-eo-minutes.html#action10]

Henk: The report should be tied to checkpoints rather than page objects.

Liam: Do a results matrix, checkpoint by classification.

Henk: The education aspect of a report is not permitted in some legal frameworks: like inspection reports.

Shadi: Our audience is not a standards inspection organization. It is a model report for education..

Henk: We need an example of a report you might see from an evaluation organization. Such a report will limit the requirements for the report.

Judy: Please look out for documents to review so we can close out.
