Hypothesis: The value of DDC is proportionate to how often and in how many application use it

Hypothesis: DDC is a means to an end (e.g. related resources) but not the ends it self. Open services that utilize DDC are critical for success.

Hypothesis: The maintenance of DDC is similar (enough) to other classification systems its cost effective to use open standards RDF/XML

Hypothesis: Subject classification and controlled vocabularies for subjects, people, places will be increasingly useful in the Semantic Web. If high quality vocabularies are not easily accessible, corporations and communities will realize its cost effective to collaboratively develop them.
