I attended a DAML PI meeting the 2nd International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC2003)

• Fri 17 Oct: presented Semantic Web Update: OWL and Beyond to joint DAML/Ontoweb session
• Sun 19 Oct: attended Semantic Web Services Initiative meetings
• Mon 20 Oct: semantic web integration workshop: What are they= smoking? panel with Pat Hayes, Chris Welty, and company
• Tue 21 Oct: WTF!?!?! No ISWC proceedings in the web? Semantic Web Challenge is way cool.
• Wed 22 Oct: institutionalized ConnectingAudiences pattern
• Thu 23 Oct: Mangrove is cool; timbl's talk was pretty well-received, despite the challenges

riding a bike back from the conference to the Best Western in Fla, I had to completely abandon the idea that you can see the road ahead and just trust that it was there. My eyes went into a different mode; there was no figure-and-ground; only dark, dark grey with the occasional motion-clue. I could see how sailors appreciated starlight/moonlight. Oncoming traffic was nice while it shone light on my path, but then when they went away, I was blind until my eyes reset.
