The following describes the errata for the W3C Working Draft "W3C XML Query (XQuery) Requirements", dated 02 May 2003, located at http://www.w3.org/TR/2003/WD-xquery-requirements-20030502.
In Section 3.2 General Requirements, subsection 3.2.1 on Query Language Syntax is currently as follows:
- 3.2.1 Query Language Syntax
- The XML Query Language MAY have more than one syntax binding.
Status: this requirement has been met.
The XML Query Language MAY have more than one syntax binding.
Status: this requirement has been met.
One query language syntax MUST be convenient for humans to read and write.
Status: this requirement has been partially met. XQueryX was last published in June 2001. This has been captured in issue 152 ( W3C members only)
Instead, the subsection, consistently with the previous version of the Working Draft, should have been as follows:
- 3.2.1 Query Language Syntax
- The XML Query Language MAY have more than one syntax binding.
Status: this requirement has been met.
One query language syntax MUST be convenient for humans to read and write.
Status: this requirement has been met.
One query language syntax MUST be expressed in XML in a way that reflects the underlying structure of the query.
Status: this requirement has been partially met. XQueryX was last published in June 2001. This has been captured in issue 152 ( W3C members only)
