DOM Level 2 HTML

DOM Level 1 HTML failed on one requirement:

"address issues of backwards compatibility with IE3 and NS3."

DOM Level 2 HTML:

• NOT backward compatible with DOM Level 1 HTML.

• address HTML 4.0 and XHTML 1.0

• For XHTML 1.1 and higher, use the DOM Core/XML.

DOM Level 2 HTML is in a Proposed Recommendation!
