Description

UPDATE: Project moved/abandoned? Homepage is "Server not found".

Scooner integrates the Web of pages with the Linked Open Data (LOD). We use the Yahoo! Search Boss as the entry point to the Web of pages. Given a keyword search, we identify LOD entity mentions in the textual summaries within the Search Result Page (SRP). Then, responding to user click in any spotted entity, we are able to query the LOD in order to present other related entities. This prototype demonstrates the potential that Linked Open Data has to facilitate consumption of structured data, increase the link density on a Web of unstructured data, and therefore enable novel ways to add value to information on the Web.
