ISSUE-50: Validation criteria for mapping graphs

Validation criteria for mapping graphs

State:
CLOSED
Product:
R2RML
Raised by:
Richard Cyganiak
Opened on:
2011-07-08
Description:
The spec contains some language here about what kind of extra triples, beyond those that make up the mapping, are allowed in a mapping graph:
http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/rdb2rdf/r2rml/#vocabulary

For example, it says that mapping graphs SHOULD NOT contain terms in the rr: namespace that are not defined in the document, and it says that mapping graphs MAY contain additional properties such as rdfs:label, rdfs:comment etc even though the spec doesn't explicitly talk about them.

This section needs more critical thought. Issues include:

- How do we help catching authoring errors?
- How do we keep the spec extensible in the future?

Related notes:

This doesn't raise any concerns about R2RML, but is just a call for review. It shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. I'm closing it again.
