This is an Active Desktop for W3C headlines.
It is based on CDF, XSL, CSS and DOM. The XSL converts the RSS format from the W3C homepage and generate an HTML 4 document. Dynamic effects are then created using the DOM and CSS. It would have been easier with SMIL of course.
