W3C

Software Developer Position

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is looking for a new team member to contribute in the development of its Open Source software, more specifically the Amaya browser/editor. Amaya is our testbed platform. Its purpose is to experiment with new Web technologies under development and to demonstrate their usage.

Amaya is an activity in the User Interface (UI) domain. The UI team is responsible for the Web standards closest to the user, such as XHTML, CSS, XSL, DOM, SMIL, MathML and SVG. We need somebody who can participate in the implementation of these specifications and some others such as XML.

You will have to follow the progress of W3C working groups developing specifications for the Web. You will also interact with these groups to provide some feedback from an implementer perspective.

You will be based at the W3C INRIA site in Grenoble, France. You will have to travel to some meetings and conferences as well as to other W3C sites in France, US and Japan.

Requirements

As the recognized leader for the technical development of the World Wide Web, we seek an individual with Web technology experience, a good understanding of the Web industry, eagerness to make a better and more interoperable Web, and enthusiasm for the mission and spirit of W3C.

To apply, please send a motivation letter and your résumé in electronic form to Josiane Roberts (josiane@w3.org) with copies to Vincent Quint (quint@w3.org) and Jean-François Abramatic (jfa@w3.org).
