Having invented the Web in 1989 while working at CERN and subsequently working to ensure it was made freely available to all, Berners-Lee is now dedicated to enhancing and protecting the Web’s future. He is Director of the World Wide Web Consortium, a global Web standards organization he founded in 1994 to lead the Web to its full potential. He is also a Founding Director of the World Wide Web Foundation, which seeks to ensure the Web serves humanity by establishing it as a global public good and a basic right. In 2012 he co-founded the Open Data Institute (ODI) which advocates for Open Data in the UK and globally. Sir Tim has advised a number of governments and corporations on ongoing digital strategies. A graduate of Oxford University, Sir Tim presently holds academic posts at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at CSAIL (Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab), (USA) and the University of Southampton (UK).

Axelle Lemaire has been the French Ministry of State for Digital Affairs since April 2014. She calls her now position the “portfolio for imagination”. Born in Canada in 1974, she studied political science at Sciences Po in Paris and law at the Sorbonne and King’s College London. She worked as a researcher and international lawyer before entering politics as a parliamentary assistant in the House of Commons. In 2012, Axelle LEMAIRE was elected in the French National Assembly to represent the French diaspora living in Northern Europe. As the Secretary of the Law Committee and a member of the European Affairs Committee, her main areas of interest were the digital society and digital economy, the protection of human rights and gender equality, and European politics. The mother of two children, Axelle enjoys reading, running, and travelling

Mário Campolargo is Director for "Net Futures" in DG CONNECT responsible for Research and Innovation on what lies beyond the current Internet architecture, software and services and the EU-Strategy for the Cloud. Previously he has been Director for "Emerging Technologies and Infrastructures" in DG INFSO in charge of Future and Emerging Technologies, ICT based infrastructures for science and ICT trust and security, experimental facilities and experimentally driven research for Future Internet. Before joining the European Commission in 1990, he worked for 12 years in the R&D Centre of Portugal Telecom as a researcher and manager. He has a Degree in Electrical Engineering (University of Coimbra), a Master of Science in Computing Science (Imperial College London), a Post-graduate in Management (Solvay Business School Brussels) and a European Studies Diploma (Université Catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve).

Until 2014, Michel Cosnard served as Chairman and CEO of INRIA, Chairman of the french Alliance for ICST (Allistene) and of ERCIM. He is currently Professor at the University of Nice - Sophia Antipolis and advisor of the Chairman of INRIA. His research interests are in the design and analysis of parallel algorithms, in the complexity analysis of automata and neural nets. Michel Cosnard has published more than 100 papers and several books related to parallel processing. He served as Editor of many scientific journals. Michel Cosnard holds a Master of Science degree from Cornell University (1975), a Doctorat d'Etat from Université de Grenoble (1983) and an honorary degree from the Polytechnique de Mons faculty (Belgium). Michel Cosnard has been member of the FP6 IST Evaluation Committee and of ISTAG (Information Society Technologies Advisory Group). He is currently member of the High Level Expert Group for FP7 evaluation. He received a prize from the French Academy of Science, the IFIP Silver Core, the IEEE Babbage Award and Euro-Par Achievement Award. In 2007, Michel Cosnard promoted Knight of the French Legion of Honour and in 2014 he was promoted Officer of the National Merit Order.

Jean-François Abramatic is a senior scientist at Inria, the French institute for research in computer science and applied mathematics. He is currently a W3C Fellow seconded by Inria to W3C. His career has been shared between research and industry. He started as a research scientist in differential games (Ecole des Mines de Paris) and digital image processing (IRIA). After managing a research and development program aimed at designing scientific workstations, he became chairman and CEO of a start up company selling graphics terminals. In 1993, he returned to Inria as Director of Development and Industrial Relations. Among various partnerships, he launched the European host of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). He then moved to MIT as W3C Chairman (1996-2001). In 2001, Jean-François joined ILOG, a French software company as Vice President of Research and Development. After the acquisition of ILOG by IBM, he became Director of ILOG Research and Development within IBM Software Group. In 2011, he moved to IBM headquarters as Director Development Productivity & Innovation in the Enterprise Transformation division. In 2014, he returned to Inria in the Transfer & Innovation division.
Jean-François was asked by the French government to prepare a report entitled "Le Développement Technique de l'Internet" which was published in 1999. He also served on the ICANN Board (1999-2000). He is currently a member of the governing board of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). Jean-François Abramatic received his master's degree from Ecole des Mines in Nancy (1971) and his PhD from the University of Paris VI (1980).

Inmaculada Placencia is Deputy Head of Unit, for Rights of Persons with Disabilities within the Directorate General Employment, Social Affairs & Inclusion. The unit is in charge of the coordination of the European policies for persons with disabilities and responsible for the European Disability Strategy 2010-2020 and the implementation of the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities at EU level. She is graduated in Physics and Computer Science and work in RTD activities in industry. Since 1991 she joined the European Commission and worked in several research programmes addressing accessibility and applications for older persons and people with disabilities. The focus of her work in the "e-Inclusion" unit of the Directorate General Information Society and Media addressed policy related activities in the area of accessibility at European and international level, as well as eAccessibility and eInclusion and work related to Design for All and Assistive technologies. During her work in the Directorate General for Justice she also contributed to the development of disability related antidiscrimination legislation and other legislative files related to accessibility. She is responsible for the Task Force for the preparation of the European Accessibility Act.

Born in 1977, Emmanuel Grégoire graduated from Sciences Po Bordeaux and has a degree in philosophy. He specialized in organizational sociology and communications systems and began his career as a consultant. He worked for 10 years in NICT and health sector. In 2009, he became the head of staff of Bertrand Delanoë, former Mayor of Paris. A position he held until his departure for the Prime Minister's cabinet where he worked as head of staff until April 2014. Since April 5th, 2014 Emmanuel Grégoire is Deputy Mayor of Paris, in charge of Human Resources, public utilities and modernization of public administration.

Ms. Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin graduated in France from the HEC School of Business Management (“Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales”), the National Administration School (“Ecole Nationale d’Administration”) and the Multimedia Institute (“Institut Mutltimédia”). She first held various posts with the French State Council (“Conseil d’Etat”), as an “auditeur” from 1986 to 1989, a “maître des requêtes” (counsel) from 1989 to 2001 and was responsible of the relations with the print and broadcast media from 1988 to 1991. Ms. Falque-Pierrotin also served as Deputy Chair of the French Ministry of Culture and French-Speaking World Matters from 1993 to 1995. She became State Counselor (“Conseiller d’Etat”) in November 2001. After serving as Chair of the Interministerial Commission on Internet Affairs in 1996, she was appointed as an expert adviser for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in 1997 and as “rapporteur général” of the report of the French State Council on “Internet and Digital Networks” from 1997 to 1998. From 2001 to December 2010, Ms. Falque-Pierrotin was Chair of the Advisory Board and General Delegate (“délegué générale”) of the French Internet Rights Forum (“Forum des droits sur l’internet”). Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin has been a member of the French Data Protection Authority (“Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés”) since January 2004. Appointed as Deputy Chair of this authority from February 2009 to September 2011, she became its Chair as of September 21, 2011. She was reelected by the members of the Commission on 4 February 2014. She was elected Chair of the Article 29 Working Party for a two-year term on 27 February 2014.

Nicolas Colin is co-founder and partner, TheFamily, with Alice Zagury and Oussama Ammar. He is also Member of the Board, Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés and was formerly in charge, with Pierre Collin ("conseiller d'Etat"), of a report commissioned by the French Government about the tax system and the digital economy. Co-author, with Henri Verdier, of "L'Âge de la multitude", he graduated from Telecom Bretagne with a major in computer science. Nicolas graduated from Sciences Po with a major in public administration and a minor in American studies, and graduated from the École nationale d'administration (ENA) before becoming an inspecteur des finances at the Inspection générale des finances.

Marjorie Paillon covers digital in several ways : she anchors '#TECH24' on France 24 a weekly show dedicated to tech and its impact on our world, she interviews international personalities from the world of economics, politics, diplomacy or culture who have a true vision of what digital means (singer and tech entrepreneur Will.I.Am, former advisor to Hillary Clinton at State departement Alec J. Ross, Joe Trippi, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, etc). Marjorie also met with innovative entrepreneurs in her Yahoo! show 'L'Envers de l'Eco' (Fred Mazzella, Alexandre Malsch, Bertin Nahum, Pierre Koscioko-Morizet, Michael Goldman, Stéphane Richard, Anne Lauvergeon, etc.). She moderates major conferences that count in the French ecosystem: IDATE DigiWorldSummit 2014, Forum de Tokyo, Google Big Tent Paris 2012, Hub Forum, Techdays, etc. Last but not least, Marjorie is commited to several non profit events that renew with the innonvative spirit: TEDx Champs Elysées Women, TEDx Champs Elysées Education and Hello Tomorrow Challenge.
