Talk:LargeTripleStores

From W3C Wiki

Aseaborne --- Your change of `Apache Jena TDB` to `Apache Jena` does not make sense to me, as `Jena` is not actually the triple store; TDB is, as is clearly stated in the rest of your text. To my knowledge, the default store (which I believe is still properly referred to as `Apache Jena TDB` -- or have you rebranded everywhere?) may be swapped out for various other triple stores that offer a Jena Provider, including Virtuoso. (Is that no longer so?) Based on all this, and the later list entry of `Apache Jena with SDB`, I suggest this would be better changed to `Apache Jena with TDB` if not back to `Apache Jena TDB`. --Ted Thibodeau (talk) 19:17, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

Apache Jena

The title is the name of the system used, same as other entries.

The report is for Apache Jena 4.3.2 as released.

The Apache Jena project produces a single product each release.

TDB is not the triple store. You can not run TDB on its own.

The text explains as best it can keeping the original style and material (which I didn't write AFAIK). That content can be improved later. The title is correct.

It is not for OpenLink to dictate how Apache Jena names or refers to usages of the Jena system.

I don't why you present the OpenLink provider as a reference. That has no authority. The best I can say about it is that it reflects Jena circa 2005 prior to being an Apache project judging by the labels. The OpenLink example code shows that it does not actually reflect the APIs the OpenLink provider uses.
