MMIWorkshop

There has been a Workshop in Keio University on November 16-17, 2007 on Multimodal Interaction and its architecture.

We defined a list of topics categorized.

Authoring

• How to author applications (need more standards)
• Synchronization of multiple modality (using EMMA?)
• APIs for the architecture; something more than life-cycle events/EMMA?

Integration

• Integrating InkML into MMI Architecture
• APIs for the architecture; something more than life-cycle events/EMMA?

Architecture

• Latency caused by serverside Interaction Manager causes
• How to integrate additional functionalities to browsers
• Fusion/fission of data from multiple modalities
• Publishing device capability by each modality component e.g. PlayAudio
• Device capability e.g. DCCI
• Onotology of device capability
• Higher level language than SCXML
• Encapsulation and tight/loose coupling

User experience

• Accessibility

Need further discussion within MMIWG

• Current IM too big .. What is the role of IM should be then?
