Last Call Timeline and Action Plan

The HTML Working Group Last Call Schedule/Action Plan is described in the following table. It is based on Maciej Stachowiak's Timeline to Last Call email.

Date Action Responsible Consequence of Missing Deadline
June 14, 2008 to October 1, 2010 File Pre-Last Call Bugs in Bugzilla following the guidance in the HTML Decision Policy. Everyone interested in HTML5 Bugs filed after October 1, 2010 will be treated as Last Call comments. The Chairs could grant exceptions on a case-by-case basis, but in general there is no guarantee of a bug filed after the cutoff will be settled before Last Call.
October 2, 2010 to December 8, 2010 Address all Pre-Last Call Bugs Editors Pre-Last Call Bugs not addressed by the editors by December 8, 2010 may be escalated to issues immediately if the originator so chooses.
December 9, 2010 to January 22, 2011 Escalate any remaining Pre-Last Call Bugs to Tracker Anyone dissatisfied with a Pre-Last Call bug resolution. An escalation after January 22, 2011 will be treated as a Last Call comment.
January 23, 2011 to February 23, 2011 Write any remaining Change Proposals Any HTML Working Group Member An issue without a Change proposal by February 23, 2011 will be closed without prejudice and marked POSTPONED. It may be reconsidered during Last Call or for a later version of HTML.
February 24, 2011 to March 22, 2011 Write any remaining Counter-Change Proposals Any HTML Working Group Member If any issue has only one proposal by March 22, Chairs will call for consensus on that proposal.
March 22, 2011 to April 22, 2011 Resolve all remaining Issues /present Last Call Resolution to Working Group HTML Chairs Chairs would publicly acknowledge missing April 22, 2011 deadline and plot a new date.
April 22, 2011 to May 22, 2011 Address Fixable Last Call Objections HTML Chairs, editors, working group members Try Last Call resolution again.
