nry Neeman\, Executive Director for Research Computing\, Director of the O
U Supercomputing Center for Education & Research\, Associate Professor in
the Gallogly College of Engineering and Adjunct Associate Professor in the
School of Computer Science at the University of Oklahoma.\n\nThe Certifie
d Cyberinfrastructure Facilitator Training & Development (CCIFTD) program
is developing microcredentials (badges) that can be aggregated into a prof
essional development certification. CCIFTD is based on the highly successf
ul Research Computing Facilitators Virtual Residency program\, which train
s professionals who work with researchers to help them learn and use large
scale and advanced computing\, in order to improve and expand the computi
ng/data-intensive aspects of their research. In this presentation\, we'll
explore the Virtual Residency and CCIFTD\, and hear about progress and exp
erience in developing the badges and certification.\n\nDr. Henry Neeman re
ceived his BS in computer science and his BA in statistics with a minor in
mathematics in 1987 from the University at Buffalo\, State University of
New York\, his MS in CS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaig
n (UIUC) in 1990 and his PhD in CS from UIUC in 1996.\n\nPrior to coming t
o OU\, Dr. Neeman was a postdoctoral research associate at the National Ce
nter for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at UIUC\, and before that serv
ed as a graduate research assistant both at NCSA and at UIUC's Center for
Supercomputing Research & Development.\n\nIn addition to his own teaching
and research\, Dr. Neeman co-founded and co-leads the OneOklahoma Cyberinf
rastructure Initiative\, the Research Computing Facilitators Virtual Resid

ting & After TPAC 24 Recap\n\nThe Information Architecture Community Group
(IACG) continues to explore the intersection of Information Architecture
(IA) and Standards in our virtual Zoom meeting. Please join us to continue
our ongoing discussion\, exploration\, and discovery of IA & Standards.\n
 \n## Program:\n\nWelcome and General IACG meeting\n\nInformation Architect
ure Community Group (IACG)\n\nToday we continue our exploration of IA\, Ac
cessibility (a11y)\, and Standards\nThe W3C Information Architecture Commu
nity Group (IACG) welcomes anyone interested in information architecture (
 IA)\, accessibility (a11y)\, labeling systems\, taxonomies\, and standards
 . IACG members participate\, discuss\, share\, support\, develop\, and lea
 rn these topics.\n\nDate: \nSaturday 28 September 2024\, 12:00–3:30 pm E
 astern\nSaturday 28 September 2024\, 11:00 am – 2:30 pm Central\nSaturda
 y 28 September 2024\, 09:00 am - 11:30 am Pacific\n\nLocation: Virtual Zoo
m Meeting NY USA\n\nGroups: Information Architecture Community Group (IACG
 )\n\nAgenda: https://github.com/w3c-cg/iacg/wiki/W3C-IACG-Information-Arch
 itecture-Community-Group-Wiki-About-Us\n\nAgenda\n\n12 -1 pm EST **Keynote
: Designing Technology for an Aging Population**\n\n**Dr. Jeff Johnson**\n
If a website or app’s target audience includes older adults\, certain as
pects of its design become more important. This talk describes age-related
factors that affect ability to use websites and apps\, and presents desig
n guidelines that reflect the capabilities\, usage patterns\, and preferen
ces of older users. \n\nFeatures:\n• Demographics of users of digital t
echnology\, by age\,\n• Age-related factors affecting ability to use com
puters and online services\,\n• Common design problems that decrease usa
bility for older adults\,\n• Design guidelines that can help designers a
void these common pitfalls.\n\n**Intended audience**: IAs\, Designers\, an
 d developers of all levels.\n**Also**: Q/A engineers\, usability testers\,
  and managers.\n\nVideo: https://youtu.be/Vbz4tBQOBps?si=s1JoI0lQeXaCvDnt\
n\n**Break**\n\n1:15 - 2:15 pm EST **Designing Products with Information A
rchitecture in Mind: Prioritizing Accessibility and Standards**\n\n**Dr. R
upananda Misra**\, Rutgers\, The State University of New Jersey \nInforma
tion Architecture plays a critical role in the design of any product\, sha
ping how users navigate and experience it. With nearly 27.2% of people in
the U.S. living with some form of disability\, including 17.2% with severe
disabilities (Census 2014)\, the need for inclusive design has never been
greater. This talk explores how Information Architects can create accessi
ble and empowering products\, ensuring that users of all abilities have a
positive and seamless experience. By focusing on accessibility and adherin
g to design standards\, we can transform how people with disabilities enga
ge with technology.\n\n**Intended audience**: Information architects of al
 l levels.\n**Also**: Usability\, accessibility\, and UX professionals of a
 ll levels.\n\nVideo: https://youtu.be/0GwmrUthP50?si=Jx_Y9OnUICi-KJFq\n\n#
 # Break\n\n2:30 - 3:30 pm EST **Architecting Standards: Leveraging Informa
tion Architecture to Drive Emerging Techn Standards**\n\n**Noreen Whysel**
\, City University of New York (CUNY)\nIn this talk\, Noreen will show how
standards bodies can learn from the IA field to improve accessibility and
usability. By adopting user-centered design principles and engaging in it
erative feedback loops\, standards organizations can create more relevant
and practical standards that align with real-world applications. Emphasizi
ng collaboration with industry experts and end-users will help ensure that
standards evolve along with technological advancements.\n\nShe will exami
ne key standards such as ISO 9241\, which provides guidelines for usabilit
y and user-centered design\, and the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guide
lines (WCAG)\, ensuring that digital content is accessible to all users\,
including those with disabilities.\n\nFinally\, with new forms of digital
interaction like GenAI\, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)\, voice inte
raction\, and other emerging technologies\, Noreen will highlight how IA c
an provide a working framework in the absence of formal standards.\n\nInte
nded audience: Information architects of all levels.\nAlso: Accessibility\
 , AI\, and UX professionals of all levels.\n\nVideo: https://youtu.be/mNgK
