DTSTART;TZID=Asia/Tokyo:20251112T083000

DESCRIPTION:https://www.w3.org/events/meetings/f7fcc7e0-49fc-4636-bd06-9f31
babc0352/\n\nThe web is critical infrastructure\, but its environmental an
d social impacts are growing: energy use\, e-waste\, and inefficiency at g
lobal scale. W3C has championed accessibility and privacy as pillars of a
trustworthy web—sustainability needs the same attention.\n\nThe Web Sust
ainability Guidelines (WSG) Community Group initially drafted guidelines\,
modeled on WCAG\, that offers practical\, testable steps for reducing the
footprint of web technologies. Since then\, the Industry group has substa
ntially revised this. We are now seeking a wide review. This breakout will
share updates and solicit feedback about implementability\, organizationa
 l structure\, and adoption.\n\nKey discussion points:\n- How to incorporat
e sustainability alongside accessibility and privacy\, performance\n- How
to ensure testability / measure-ability and avoid greenwashing\n- Opportun
ities to highlight integrations with other standards\n- Next steps: pilots
 \, adoption paths\, and potential W3C involvement\n\n[Slack](https://w3cco
 mmunity.slack.com/archives/C02JETQAQG4)\n\n**Goal(s):**\nSolicit feedback
about implementability\, organizational structure\, and adoption of the WS
G\n\nAgenda\n\n- Introductions\n- Review of recent updates in the WSG\n- A
 lignment with accessibility\, privacy\, and performance\n- Measure-ability
 \n- Next steps: pilots\, adoption paths\, and potential W3C involvement\n\
