DESCRIPTION:https://www.w3.org/events/meetings/918534a2-ae5e-4559-b28e-9f0c
5a92a1d1/\n\nCurrently\, it is technically possible to apply various legac
y credentials to new web standards such as W3C VC\, IETF SD-JWT\, and ISO
mdoc. However\, there are no established rules for using these standards i
n an interoperable or universal manner\, not only for National IDs but als
o for private sector IDs such as Student IDs and Corporate IDs.\n\nWe are
collaborating with the National Institute of Informatics (NII) to establis
h standards for Student IDs in Japan based on the ISO/IEC 18013 standard.
They are set to create rules regarding how to issue credentials\, how to c
onstruct the data model\, and how to assure and validate the data. We atte
nded a use case demonstration event held by Osaka University this October\
, where several use cases were accepted by participants from various unive
rsities in Japan.\n\nOur goal is to make Student ID interoperable and easy
to use\, not just in Japan but globally. Therefore\, we would like to dis
cuss the following points:\n\n- What are the most common use cases for Stu
dent IDs in your country?\n- What capabilities would be enabled if Global
Student ID Interoperability is achieved?\n- What is needed to achieve this
\, including the prospects for Digital Credentials API?\n\n**Goal(s):**\nL
et's Ideate and identify key use cases regarding Student ID interoperabili
 ty.\n\nAgenda\n\n**Materials:**\n- [Session proposal on GitHub](https://gi
