DESCRIPTION:https://www.w3.org/events/meetings/88141057-141d-4596-86b9-8c2b
1a51d062/\n\nThe Internet Society (ISOC) has provided the [IETF Policymake
 rs Program](https://www.internetsociety.org/policy-programs/policymakers-p
rogram-to-ietf/) since 2012. As their program description explains\, "The
IETF Policymaker Program offers training to policymakers on how the Intern
et works. It also provides visibility into the Internet’s standards deve
lopment process. When policymakers understand how the Internet works\, how
it’s evolved\, and the standards that underpin it\, they can develop be
tter policies that support the Internet as a resource to enrich people’s
  lives." Last year\, W3C launched a [Policy Engagement](https://www.w3.org
 /2025/06/w3c-2025-2028-strategic-objectives-and-initiatives/index.html#5-5
-policy-engagement) initiative\, which shares similar goals: providing exp
ertise and insight from the W3C community to governing bodies and policyma
kers to ensure future policies are better informed by our collective knowl
edge and values. \n\nOne possible way for us to provide expertise is to cr
eate a program similar to the ISOC Policymakers Program\, leveraging what
they have learned over decades of experience and\, hopefully\, finding a w
ay to adapt their approach for a W3C context. We would like to get feedbac
k and ideas from the community about this approach to policymaker training
. This session includes a presentation on the basics of the Policymakers P
 rogram\, followed by interactive discussion.\n\n**Goal(s):**\nTo explore t
he idea of deploying a "policymakers program" for the web/W3C\n\nAgenda\n\
