DESCRIPTION:https://www.w3.org/events/meetings/47101a01-4abb-44d3-8a54-5965
3d6ed6bf/20250310T120000/\n\nThe ARIA-AT Automation subgroup is a space to
discuss the AT-Driver specification and come to consensus on issues neces
sary to advance AT-Driver through the standards process in the Browser Too
ls and Testing Working Group.\n\nAgenda\n\n### Review agenda and next meet
ing dates\n\n- Requests for changes to today's agenda?\n- Next "automation
subgroup" meeting: Monday\, April 14\, 2025\n- Next Browser Testing and T
ools meeting: Wednesday\, April 9\, 2025\n\n### Supporting maintenance of
the NVDA AT Driver server\n\n[A recent change to the AT Driver protocol](h
 ttps://github.com/w3c/at-driver/pull/76) necessitated modifications to bot
h AT Driver implementations\, and Bocoup was able to perform this maintena
nce. However\, [the patch to the NVDA AT Driver server](https://github.com
/Prime-Access-Consulting/nvda-at-automation/pull/55) was delayed due to li
mited organizational experience with the technology used to create it. We'
d like to discuss whether it's appropriate for Bocoup to create a new vers
ion of the NVDA AT Driver server which they can maintain more efficiently.
\n\n\n### Update on collecting "hint" text from VoiceOver\n\nOur investiga
tion into the stability of the VoiceOver Bot has identified the "hint" tex
t as a notable source of variability. We believe that increasing recording
delays is the best way to address this\, but we also note that the approa
ch will extend the time required for the bot to perform its tasks.\n\nThis
also relates to the project's longer-term goals of explicitly annotating
the "hint" text in VoiceOver responses. The plan of record for that featur
e is to run every test twice\, so added delays will have a larger impact o
n execution duration in that future.\n\n### Continued evaluation of the pr
oject's reliance on GitHub Actions\n\nWe have yet to secure conclusive ass
urance about whether ARIA-AT's automation needs will be satisfied by GitHu
b's free services. This follows an extended effort to engage with GitHub s
taff and a series of tests designed to experimentally measure relevant lim
itations. We'd like to re-assess the risks we face\, review the uncertaint
y concerning the project's long-term needs\, and determine the best course
  of action.
