SUMMARY:Convertible Devices Brainstorming

DESCRIPTION:https://www.w3.org/events/meetings/23cd1b88-624c-424f-adbf-355e
 41981015/\n\nConvertible devices (Chromebooks\, Surfaces\, and tablets\, t
o name a few) are devices that can switch from a touch-first mode into a m
ore traditional desktop mode. Today\, they're not well represented in web
standards: the [Form Factor client hint](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-
 US/docs/Web/HTTP/Reference/Headers/Sec-CH-UA-Form-Factors) neither include
s it nor is there another way to query for it\, there's no listener event
for form factor changes\, and key user experience flows that can change de
pending on the form factor (like how `window.open` works) can't be queried
for.\n\nI'd like for this to be a brainstorming session on the different
items\, like mentioned above\, a developer may need to know and react to f
or a convertible device to provide users a better experience on those devi
ces.\n\n**Goal(s):**\nCreate a list of proposed feature gaps\, and potenti
al solutions\, for convertible devices to bring back to relevant working a
nd community groups.\n\nAgenda\n\n* Introduction to the Problem Space (wha
t are convertibles\, what unique challenges do they face)\n* Currently ide
ntified problems (`window.open` differences\, lack of clear Form Factor c
lient hint?) with discussion\n* Open forum for problems identified by part
icipants\, with initial brainstorming for fixes to bring back to other com
 mittees.\n\n**Materials:**\n- [Session proposal on GitHub](https://github.
