The group will create an open, community-driven registry of reusable neuroscience semantic terms on the Web — a Neuroscience Schema Registry (NSR). This work would complement existing established efforts from different projects such as BRAIN Initiative Cell Atlas Network.

This Community Group collaborates with neuroscience initiatives, standards organizations, ontology developers, data repositories, and software communities so that its work integrates with domain standards such as BIDS, NWB, DANDI, and INCF recommendations; with the FAIR principles; and with Semantic Web technologies including RDF, OWL, SHACL, and LinkML, alongside other W3C specifications where appropriate. Accordingly, we hope to leverage the W3C community’s expertise in Semantic Web technologies, linked data, and open standards development.

This group may publish Specifications.

You are invited to support the creation of this group.
Once the group has a total of 5 supporters, it will be launched and people can join to begin work.
