Community Group has been proposed by Steven Kou:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n<p>The W3C Community Group for Ethical Presence Anchoring explores new approaches for privacy-preserving spatial context within the WebXR ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n<p>Our mission is to define and prototype consent-based, local-only anchoring methods that protect user dignity and autonomy while enabling immersive, emotionally meaningful XR experiences on the open web.<\/p>\n\n<p>The group will:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li> Develop open specifications for Passive Spatial Presence Vector (PSPV) and Presence Mesh Protocol (PMP) extensions for WebXR.<\/li>\n<li> Establish ethical guidelines and technical safeguards for handling local spatial data, emotional context, and consent layers.<\/li>\n<li> Collaborate with W3C, Khronos, and Open Metaverse Foundation participants to ensure cross-standard compatibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Deliverables will include technical drafts, ethical design frameworks, and open-source prototypes demonstrating presence anchoring without cloud telemetry or invasive data capture.<\/p>\n\n<p>Especially welcome are developers, designers, researchers, and ethicists who believe immersive technology should serve human well-being and preserve personal sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n<p>\n    You are invited to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/groups\/proposed\/#ethicalpresence\">support the creation of this group<\/a>.\n    Once the group has a total of 5 supporters, it will be launched and people can join to begin work.
