{"id":4087,"date":"2014-05-23T17:57:12","date_gmt":"2014-05-23T17:57:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/?p=4087"},"modified":"2014-05-23T17:57:12","modified_gmt":"2014-05-23T17:57:12","slug":"proposed-group-browser-sync-community-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/blog\/2014\/05\/23\/proposed-group-browser-sync-community-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Proposed Group: Browser Sync Community Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Browser Sync Community Group has been proposed by Ryan Freebern:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The major browsers provide users with a means of synchronizing their data across browser instances, but the services behind that synchronization process are not controlled by users, and users don&#8217;t have the ability to sync the data of their choice, or sync with other browsers.<\/p>\n<p>Our goal is to create a specification for a browser sync process that gives users more control over their data, gives developers the ability to sync specific data for their web applications, and allows for a diverse marketplace of sync backend providers.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>You are invited to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/groups\/proposed#browsersync\">support the creation of this group<\/a>.
