{"id":3573,"date":"2013-10-22T16:07:39","date_gmt":"2013-10-22T16:07:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/?p=3573"},"modified":"2013-10-22T16:07:39","modified_gmt":"2013-10-22T16:07:39","slug":"call-for-participation-in-media-resource-in-band-tracks-community-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/blog\/2013\/10\/22\/call-for-participation-in-media-resource-in-band-tracks-community-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Participation in Media Resource In-band Tracks Community Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/inbandtracks\/\">Media Resource In-band Tracks Community Group<\/a> has been launched:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>This group will develop a specification defining how user agents should expose in-band tracks as HTML5 media element video, audio and text tracks so that Web applications can access the in-band track information, through the media element, in a interoperable manner across user agent implementations.<\/p>\n<p>Media formats of interest are MPEG-2 transport stream, WebM and MPEG-4 file format. Other media formats containing in-band tracks may be considered.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>In order to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/inbandtracks\/join\">join the group<\/a>, you will need a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/account\/request\">W3C account<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is a community initiative. This group was originally proposed on 2013-10-16 by Bob Lund. The following people supported its creation: Bob Lund, Giuseppe Pascale, Silvia Pfeiffer, Cyril Concolato, Mark Vickers.
