{"id":3360,"date":"2013-08-27T13:04:33","date_gmt":"2013-08-27T13:04:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/?p=3360"},"modified":"2013-08-27T13:04:33","modified_gmt":"2013-08-27T13:04:33","slug":"call-for-participation-in-remote-dom-community-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/blog\/2013\/08\/27\/call-for-participation-in-remote-dom-community-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Participation in Remote DOM Community Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/remotedom\/\">Remote DOM Community Group<\/a> has been launched:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Similarly to how the Shadow DOM paved the way for custom elements using web technologies, a &#8220;Remote DOM&#8221; could allow display of portions of the web app to be displayed on &#8220;remote&#8221; (i.e. &#8220;external&#8221;) devices, such as screens, Smart TVs, etc.<\/p>\n<p>This brings interesting capabilities to web apps, such as leveraging external screens for presentation, supplemental content or second screen experiences.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>In order to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/remotedom\/join\">join the group<\/a>, you will need a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/account\/request\">W3C account<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is a community initiative. This group was originally proposed on 2013-06-09 by Martin Naumann. The following people supported its creation: Martin Naumann, Alain Couthures, Oliver Tupman, Filipe Melo, amit asthana.
