The User\\'s Identity on the Web Community Group has been proposed:<\/p>\n
Dear W3C members, Dear all,
\nCurrently, more and more services are created on the web and require informations about you, me, all of us…
\nTherefore, users have to give away a lot of informations about themselves to many different services. The point is that the users loose control of their identity on the web, by filling a lot of forms (through inscriptions…) etc…
\nPrivacy on the Internet is extremely important and my point is : It must remain ! Personal informations are used by services we, sometimes, don\\'t even know about, and it is a real problem !<\/p>\n
The aim of this working group would be to think about new ways to identify individuals over the internet using trusted web based identites embedded directly into the core protocols of the web (or else …). This while maintaining equilibrium between total privacy and providing informations when needed, which means, when user wants to.<\/p>\n
I am aware that it is late, because a lot of informations are already on the web, but still I think it is interesting to discuss this with a W3 community group.
\nThis group is open to anyone interested and each contribution is always useful and welcome.
\nI hope you will join us and I am sure we will have very interesting discussion !<\/p>\n
