{"id":316,"date":"2013-01-08T12:04:05","date_gmt":"2013-01-08T17:04:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/socbizcg\/?page_id=316"},"modified":"2013-04-24T13:21:26","modified_gmt":"2013-04-24T17:21:26","slug":"why-you-should-join-the-social-business-community-draft","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/socbizcg\/why-you-should-join-the-social-business-community-draft\/","title":{"rendered":"Why you should join the Social Business Community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The W3C Community Group (CG) will separate the hype from the reality on how to leverage what customers have today and how to use open, standards-based social business to transform their organizations.<\/p>\n<p>The CG is an end user advocacy forum dedicated to removing barriers to successful social business adoption, by drilling down into the standards, security and interoperability issues surrounding the the adoption of social technology. \/DB &#8211; Culture, B2B, etc<\/p>\n<p>The CG will provide social business users with the opportunity to drive client requirements into standards development organizations and deliver materials such as best practices and use cases to assist other enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>The CG will complement existing social business standards efforts and establish a core set of client-driven requirements to ensure social business users will have the same freedom of choice, flexibility, and openness they have with traditional IT environments. The CG is open to all end-user organizations. The group will work to lower the barriers for widespread adoption of social business technologies by helping to prioritize key Interoperability issues, reference architecture, as well as security and compliance issues.<\/p>\n<p>The W3C Community Group will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Deliver customer-focused content in the form of best practices, patterns, case studies, use cases, and standards roadmaps.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Influence the standards development process for new social business technology standards \/db architectures and frameworks<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Facilitate the exchange of real-world stories, practices, lessons and insights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The W3C Community Group mission, strategies, and tactics center on the following premises:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Social Business computing adoption is a key enabler for the 21st century enterprise<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Achieving the benefits of social technology requires significant changes for both IT and business executives<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Social Business is perceived by business executives as an IT integration, interoperability and productivity story<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Social Business Technology practitioners would greatly benefit from a vibrant practitioner community to drive local, business-driven, social business success, and to spur broader enterprise, and industry-wide, social technlogy adoption.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The W3C Community Group (CG) will separate the hype from the reality on how to leverage what customers have today and how to use open, standards-based social business to transform their organizations.
