The Forum is\u00a0a place to share perspectives about accessibility guidelines and their role in creating inclusive digital environments. We\u00a0will regularly post\u00a0topics\u00a0and invite\u00a0discussion\u00a0as\u00a0comments or via\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:public-silver@w3.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">public-silver@w3.org<\/a>\u00a0mailing list.<\/p>\n<p>Our first discussion topic is,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/silver\/2017\/04\/04\/what-can-we-learn-from-wcag-adaptations\/\">What can we learn from WCAG adaptations?<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>One of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/WAI\/GL\/wiki\/Goals_for_Designing_the_Silver_Process\">primary goals for the Silver project<\/a> is to use evidence and data to inform decisions about the next-generation accessibility guidelines. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/WAI\/GL\/task-forces\/silver\/wiki\/Design_Plan_for_Silver\">Silver Design Plan<\/a> begins at the beginning, with questions about what is needed, and where there are opportunities to push forward using guidelines to support accessibility in the digital environment. In the Discovery Phase, researchers and stakeholders worldwide are working together to find answers to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/WAI\/GL\/task-forces\/silver\/wiki\/Research_Projects\">key research questions<\/a>. From supporting policy and design decisions, teaching and learning about accessibility needs, conducting research and creating standards, and other <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/128vPnCweXN9t4JBG7-AOeBhT-KquaWXcCsi3H-f8u94\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">stakeholder roles and activities<\/a>, a broad range of perspectives on how accessibility guidelines are used will clarify what is needed to ensure accessibility guidelines are an effective tool for advancing accessibility.<\/p>\n<p>To support work in the Discovery Phase, the Silver Task Force will regularly post research questions as prompts and open the floor for discussion. We will include your comments and perspectives\u00a0among the research data, which will form the basis for Phase 2 activities of interpreting and synthesizing the data into insights to guide decision-making, as we move from research to concepts.<\/p>\n<p>We look forward to hearing from you!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are launching this Discovering Silver Forum as part of the Silver Community Group website.
