How do we connect the nearly two-thirds of the planet who can\u2019t yet access the Web?\u00a0\u00a0 2. Who has the right to collect and use our personal data, for what purpose and under what rules?\u00a0 3. How do we create a high-performance open architecture that will run on any device, rather than fall back into proprietary alternatives?\u00a0 Join the discussion at the <a href=\"https:\/\/webwewant.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"> web we want<\/a> campaign and perhaps we can help make the web more interactive and more read\/write.<\/p>\n<p>Two important technologies became W3C RECs this month, the long awaited <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/blog\/data\/2014\/01\/16\/json-ld-has-been-published-as-a-w3c-recommendation\/\">JSON LD<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/blog\/data\/2014\/02\/25\/rdf-1-1-has-been-published-as-recommendation\/\">RDF 1.1<\/a>.\u00a0 Well done to everyone involved on reaching these milestones.<\/p>\n<p>This community group reaches 2.5 years old.\u00a0 Congrats to our co-chair Andrei Sambra who has moved over to work with Tim, Joe and <a href=\"http:\/\/dig.csail.mit.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">team<\/a> at MIT.\u00a0 Some work on identity, applications and libraries has moved forward this quarter, more below!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/wiki\/images\/f\/fe\/Rww-logo-001.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Communications and Outreach<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In Paris this month there was a well attended <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2013\/10\/payments\/\">workshop<\/a> on Web Payments.\u00a0 The group hopes to take a set of specs to REC status including some on <a href=\"https:\/\/web-payments.org\/specs\/source\/identity-credentials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">identity credentials<\/a> and access controlled, reading and writing, of user profiles.<\/p>\n<p>Andrei had a productive <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/therealdeiu\/status\/446027731676192768\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">talk<\/a> with Frank\u00a0Karlitschek the creator of the popular personal data store, <a href=\"http:\/\/owncloud.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">OwnCloud<\/a>.\u00a0 Hopefully, it is possible to mutually benefit by reusing some of the ideas created in this group.<\/p>\n<p><a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2012\/06\/rdf.png\" width=\"106\" height=\"109\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Community Group<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>There&#8217;s been some updated software for our W3C CG <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/\">blogging platform<\/a>, so anyone that wishes to make a post related to read and write web standards ping Andrei or myself, or just dive in!<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s been some useful contributions to <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/linkeddata\/rdflib.js\/tree\/master\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">rdflib.js<\/a> and a new library which <a href=\"http:\/\/lists.w3.org\/Archives\/Public\/public-rww\/2014Feb\/0003.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">proposes<\/a> the &#8216;pointed graph&#8217; idea.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve also taken feedback on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/wiki\/User_Header\">User Header<\/a> discussions we have had and put them in a wiki page.\u00a0 Additionally, the WebID specs now have a permanent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2005\/Incubator\/webid\/spec\/\">home<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There have also been discussions on <a href=\"http:\/\/lists.w3.org\/Archives\/Public\/public-rww\/2013Dec\/0023.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">deeplinking \/ bookmarkability<\/a> for single page apps.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve also been working on an <a href=\"https:\/\/w3id.org\/cc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">ontology<\/a> for crypto currencies which I am hoping to integrate into the RWW via a tipping robot next quarter.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2014\/03\/cimba-logo.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-339\" alt=\"cimba-logo\" src=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2014\/03\/cimba-logo-300x65.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"65\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2014\/03\/cimba-logo-300x65.png 300w, https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2014\/03\/cimba-logo.png 369w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Applications<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Great work from the guys over at MIT with a new decentralized blogging platform, <a href=\"http:\/\/cimba.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Cimba<\/a>.\u00a0 Cimba is also a 100% client side app, it can run on a host, on github, or even on your local file system.\u00a0 Feel free to sign up and start some channels, or just take a look at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=z0_XaJ97rF0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">screencast<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Cimba, <a href=\"http:\/\/webizen.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Webizen<\/a> has been launched to help you search for connections more easily.\u00a0 Search for friends on the decentralized social web, or add your own public URI.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2014\/03\/ldfragments.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-344\" alt=\"ldfragments\" src=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2014\/03\/ldfragments-300x165.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"165\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2014\/03\/ldfragments-300x165.png 300w, https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2014\/03\/ldfragments.png 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Last but not least\u2026<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>For those of you that enjoy SPARQL, <a href=\"http:\/\/client.linkeddatafragments.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Linked Data Fragments<\/a>, presents new ways to query linked data via a web client.\u00a0 This tool is <a href=\"http:\/\/linkeddatafragments.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">designed<\/a> to provide a &#8216;fragment&#8217;
