WG has been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2012\/ldp\/charter\">chartered<\/a>, and will hopefully provide a solid framework for RWW systems.\u00a0 Congrats also, to two important technologies, RDFa and JSON-LD which have announced they have moved to a final track towards REC status.<\/p>\n<p>On the Read Write Web the focus has been on more interop between social platforms, and improvements to the pingback protocol.\u00a0 More testing and importantly bridges from Web \/ WebID based systems towards email, complete a final bootstrap, that has been requested for a long time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/wiki\/images\/f\/fe\/Rww-logo-001.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Communications and Outreach<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Read Write Web CG is happy to announce a collaboration with the W3C <a href=\"http:\/\/unhosted.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">unhosted<\/a> Community Group.\u00a0 Unhosted is a group of 50+ enthusiasts with a broad goal of &#8220;personal data freedom&#8221; and are aiming to create apps and protocols to allow users to store data online.<\/p>\n<p>The draft protocols will be brainstormed in our wiki section currently available for review <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/wiki\/Read-write-web-00\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 Initial versions aim to support &#8220;simple&#8221; (HTTP verbs PUT\/POST\/DELETE\/GET), &#8220;WebDAV&#8221;, &#8220;CouchDB&#8221; and hopefully SPARQL coming soon.\u00a0 The long term aim is to merge data access protocols to make them completely RWW compliant.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2012\/05\/unhosted.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-104\" src=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2012\/05\/unhosted.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"166\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Community Group<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Seven new joiners to the community group in May, takes our numbers to 49.\u00a0 Welcome to new participants, looking forward discussions, collaboration of projects and apps!<\/p>\n<p>The <a title=\"wiki\" href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/wiki\/Main_Page\" target=\"_blank\">wiki<\/a> has undergone a minor revamp, with some improvements to the home page navigation.\u00a0 There is has been a major fleshing out of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/wiki\/Pingback\">Pingback<\/a> protocol (thanks Bergi!).\u00a0 Flows now include authentication methods such as OAuth (trusted third party) which is going to be very interesting to try out.\u00a0 An archive of these blog reports is also available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/wiki\/Monthly_Updates\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2012\/05\/resourceme2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-105\" src=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2012\/05\/resourceme2-300x158.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"158\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2012\/05\/resourceme2-300x158.png 300w, https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/rww\/files\/2012\/05\/resourceme2.png 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Applications<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Having achieved the first pingback last month, much more testing has taken place.\u00a0 Pingback is essentially a simple, secure and extensible messaging system between two URIs.\u00a0 Joining My Profile and Openlink Data Spaces, are tests including bergnet \/ resource me, aksw.org and a standalone form hosted on jsfiddle.<\/p>\n<p>Importantly, pingbacks are now starting to bootstrap their way into email ( foaf mbox ) in order to bring more and more people from email, to the web.\u00a0 Lots of directions this can go, but I think areas to focus on next, will be on access control e.g. so that you can have &#8220;circles&#8221;
