The purpose of updating our Community Group description is to give us tools if someone is misusing the group without contributing to the group. It’s still OK to showcase and share knowledge, but not to take advantage of the group and its members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThe Nordic Accessibility Community Group brings together participants from across the Nordic region to exchange knowledge, discuss accessibility challenges, and collaborate on improving digital inclusion. The group provides a neutral space for sharing practical experience, comparing approaches across countries, and learning from the diverse perspectives of people working with accessibility in different roles and sectors.
People may join as representatives of a company or organisation, but participation must stay focused on supporting the group\u2019s discussions and activities. Advertising, product promotion, and sales-driven contributions are not allowed.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe draft text has been approved through Slack and this meeting. It will be updated for the Community Group by Tobias.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Update from the Danish monitoring agency<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Sikkerhedsstyrelsen<\/em> (the Danish monitoring agency for the European Accessibility Act) presented at a Danish event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5 people are working on accessibility monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many of the event participants were surprised to learn that you had to report to the government agency if you’re not living up to the accessibility requirements. If you report, what happens? They could not answer what happens after they have received the report, or if you stay under the radar. A lot of uncertainty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tobias is invited to present accessibility for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recent Github repository and monitoring information updates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Updates made on GitHub and progress in getting answers from the monitoring agencies. Still need help to find contact information. Got volunteers from this Community Group to find contact information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teach Access Europe update<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
It would be good for countries to “shift left” to teach accessibility early on in higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teach Access Europe<\/a> supports this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kosei had one day about accessibility and accessibility laws held by the normal teacher when he studied. Nothing demanded in exams after this. Kosei did one guest lecture going back to his school, and it is now required by the next exam to include accessibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tobias has reached out to Teach Access and was invited to working sessions about what schools should teach, how to grow and expand the Teach Access group, etc. Tobias will report back to this Community Group after their first working sessions in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Volunteering will benefit the accessibility community in the long run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kosei mentioned a study on how companies have prepared to meet accessibility requirements. He will share the data report in Slack. The talk presenting the study (in Danish): “SMV\u2019er: Hvordan har de forberedt sig og hvad betyder loven for dem?<\/a>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n
WCAG AAA discussion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Has anyone experienced AAA in audit requirements?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
P\u00e4r has experience with a school platform made by volunteers in Stockholm. “Open school platform”\/”\u00d6ppna skolplattformen”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some have smaller audits and cherry-picking from AAA requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
