{"id":99,"date":"2017-06-19T12:00:45","date_gmt":"2017-06-19T12:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/music-notation\/?p=99"},"modified":"2017-06-15T15:42:00","modified_gmt":"2017-06-15T15:42:00","slug":"revised-community-group-charter-request-for-feedback","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/music-notation\/2017\/06\/19\/revised-community-group-charter-request-for-feedback\/","title":{"rendered":"Revised Community Group charter \u2013 request for feedback"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since our group\u2019s priorities have become clearer over the past couple of months, the co-chairs have been working on revisions to the group\u2019s charter in order to reflect the group\u2019s current set of priorities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The main proposed changes to the charter are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Update the timeline for the releases of MusicXML 3.1 and SMuFL 1.2<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Explicitly identify the MNX container format, CWMNX and GMNX representation formats as the main deliverables of the group\u2019s work<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Propose that the initial versions of these three formats should be published by the end of 2018<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Defines the development of test suites to support MNX, CWMNX and GMNX, and the development of software to aid in the conversion of MusicXML documents to CWMNX documents.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please read the revised charter <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/music-notation\/wiki\/Revised_Group_Charter\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The procedure for changing a community group\u2019s charter is that the revisions are proposed to the members of the group, who then have a period of 30 days to vote whether to accept or reject the revisions. Before we embark on the formal voting process, we would like to invite comments and feedback from members of the group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The co-chairs propose that we have a period of two weeks for gathering feedback on the charter, and we ask that all feedback should be posted to the <\/span><b>public-music-notation-contrib@w3.org<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> mailing list before <\/span><b>Monday 3 July<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. On or after Monday 3 July, the co-chairs will announce the formal start of the vote for the approval of the new charter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thank you in advance for taking the time to review the proposed changes to the charter.
